Ok, just got back late last night! I got my swap package from Tracy! This is what I got! I really nice handmade seed bag in sunny yellow and orange colors a finch seed sock which I use all the time candy hearts plant labels, always need these Nothwest wildflowermix Strawberry popcorn exotic melon mix freaky geens mix heirloom paste mix cubanelle pepper roma tomato aunt gerties gold tomato wisconsin 55 gold colorado river beangreasy grits bean honey watermelon golden golden melon indian corn ornage watermelon baby blue hubbard golden hubbard galeaux d eysines squash heriloom bean mix and a really cool hand made gardeners soap! I received my goodies from Nancy for this swap and the Homegrown Recipes swap. :) Wow!!! For Recipes Nancy sent these from her own collection: Grilled Shrimp with Feta and Tomatoes (I love SHRIMP on the grill!) Zuppa di Scarola e Fagioli (Shcarole and Beans soup, YUMM!) Chicken Posole (Can't wait to try this. :D Whole Wheat Pastry Flower Waffles and Carrot Cake (YUMM) White Out Mexican chicken recipe Feather Rolls (Who told her I was a carb-aholic?!?! lol) Penne with Zucchini and Ricotta (Divine!) When I returned from delivering the mail today, a package was waiting at my case for me, and what a package! Lorraine (paradisa) sent a wonderful package to me! So nice, that I had to take pictures so I could share them with you all! When I opened up my box, I found another box wrapped in blue tissue with a white bow. Once I had that open, there were a lot of smaller packages, all wrapped up in blue tissue with white ribbons. One of my co-workers watched while I opened up everything, and she kept saying how good of a time SHE was having, just watching me open up everything! Well, here are a couple of pictures of the box, which Lorraine sent for me to keep seeds in... and here's a picture of everything with the box opened up... And now, let me tell you what was inside this wonderful box! First, Lorraine sent a lot of stuff, including the see box, which had a wolf theme. I love wolves, consider them my totem, and love what she sent! Now, here's what was inside this box! a CD by Jim Gaffigan, a comedian, so I can relax and have a few laughs. I've already listened to some of this CD, and it really is funny! a peacock feather (don't know why, but very cool!) a wonderful card package of 25 plant labels dehydrated tomatoes (I'll use these in my cooking) homemade strawberry jam 2 packs of seed envelopes a small wolf notebook wolf-themed calendar/checkbook cover wolf bookmark medium-sized wolf-themed notebook 11 different types of tomato seeds nasturtium mix double-click cosmos white brown-eyed susan vine chinese lanterns yellow clasping coneflower cosmos - bright lights cosmos - orange fluted cosmos - tall yellow cosmos - picotee calendula toothache plant geum trifloreum morning glories nemophilia - penny black rose seeds (I've been wanting to try to grow roses from seeds!) gomphrena hardy pink hibiscus (from Lorraine's hibiscus) blue sweet peas fan fare gallardia this box was incredible! Good morning! Hope everyone is staying cool! We actually had some rain yesterday. The wind was blowing so hard it blew over my husbands crazy grill over. Propane tank and all! The worst part is it landed on top of some of my plants I had potted up :( They look kind of smooshed, but I planted them last night in the ground (crossing my fingers they make it). Shelly, Sue emailed me with my dc # for my box from another swap and was wondering if she did the same for you? Her hubby packed the box (with Sue supervising). I can't wait to see what's in there. As I told her in a email if that was left to my husband there would be a rotty, smelly, bare-root box headed someones way :0) Robin, when Liz emailed me that she sent your box out that was like 2 weeks ago! She also said in her email that she sent out a bunch of boxes and none of them have been received. And I haven't heard from her since. If you don't hear from her by Friday, we'll consider her not sending. And I'll get a box together for you...as I told Shelly, I have a lot of weirdness to go around :)...and its not fair that you have been waiting till the middle of July for a box you should have received in June (with no word of what is going on). I would rather send to you this coming week then wait till it gets hotter out...August is coming...and I can only imagine MORE HEAT! So whats the biggest thing you've ever grown in your garden (weeds excluded)? How about the smallest?

For me, I grew a 14 lb pumpkin. It was quite dense for it's size. I also grew some really huge cucumbers that hid from me when they should have been picked. The smallest was probably and end of the season cherry tomato.

My pumpkins so far have been from volunteer vines...one in 2008 and another last year. Last years was maybe 6 or 7 pounds, and made me very happy LOL(the seeds I planted did zilch)I think those are the largest things I have grown ...but I did have a huge tomato last year I think it was around a pound and a half, small for many but huge for me LOL!!There was a larger one but I lost it either an opossum or squirrel or raccoon ,all of which dined frequently on my best produce :(
And yup, a late season cherry tomato would most likely be the smallest.
