hello! and welcome to our sign-up sheet! if you've been a part of the S-n-S group before and would like to host a month or two, here's where you can sign up to do so! pick yourself a month and repost the list, okay? you don't have to have a theme yet for your month, but please be sure you can host.

Would everyone be okay with making a simple Christmas stocking for December and filling it with things like fabric (charms or a fat quarter or two, thread, or anything else that you choose sewing or sowing related (Yes, seed packets, too!), edibles or drinkables ... just little things that we wouild enjoy seeing in our stocking.
I participated in a quilt related Easter basket swap once and it was lots of fun. I will be hostess if you don't think that that theme is too much to do early in December. I know it gets to be a busy time. Maybe if you know it is coming up, you could make your stocking well in advance. Stocking size would be something like 12" long.
Anyway, let me know what you think.

Jeanne, I think that would be a great idea! Last December we had ourselves an end-of-the-year Christmas party, and your idea goes right along with that. And, since you've already mentioned your idea, that will give us all time to think about what we'd like to do and maybe obtain some things early so it won't be so much to do during the Holidays. Kudos to you for stepping up to the plate! I thought about it when I was posting this thread, but wanted to give someone else the chance to run with a holiday idea.

It's been awhile since I've updated the "sent" list, so, here goes... I've been laying out the charms as I've received them, and with all the different fabrics going into it, it's gonna look fantastic when I'm done! Sending charms for a few months was a great idea! And, since all the charms for this month have been sent out and we're waiting for the last of them to arrive at their forever homes, who's hosting next month?

Ok, so I took this paper piecing quilting class in March. As we finished the class and were heading out the door, the teacher said, "Oops, it looks like I made a mistake in the pattern and she reversed all the "lefts and rights." So today I finished putting together the rows, laid it out on the bed to match the pattern and sew the rows together and it doesn't match. :( Evidently she shouldn't have changed the design after all. Now I have to rip apart 48 blocks, iron the seams, re-sew and re-iron the seams flat. However, I am telling myself compared to what much of the world is going through right now, this is nothing. It's just that I hate to rip! Always have. And I was looking forward to going to buy the border and backing fabric and hand quilting maybe this weekend when I go to visit my daughter. Sorry, that's enough whining for me. Since everyone has now sent their charms, why don't we call this thread closed and everyone start positing on Dan's part 2. See you there.

We just got back from Springfield (had a lovely time) and Linda's square was in the mail. It's beautiful, Linda, thanks! I visited two quilt stores and bought some fabric at both. Also got my Insulbright. I know I spent a little more to buy it there, but I like to support the small business owner whenever possible.

Bev sent me a fantastic pillow cover! Here's the front... And here's the back... 'Tis definitely a reversible cover! Bev, I think that's great how you took the Attic Windows block and made something new out of it for the front! Too kewl! I've a question for you though... where did the material for the back come from? It didn't happen to migrate from my stash to yours at some point in time, did it? I used to have some of that print, but no more. Wherever it came from, that and the others you used, they're in their forever home now! THANK YOU!!! -Dan

I'll take November. I've got a few ideas for a theme, but haven't narrowed down what I want to run with, exactly....so it'll be surprise. Probably something with chocolate, though...LOL! :P
