Decrease in numbers of wasps?

I know this is a strange question as we usually have a love/hate relationship with these guys, but I haven't had ANY wasps in my yard this year. I've also not seen any in anyone else's yard. I live outside of Memphis and I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this or if they knew why the numbers are down.

I normally have wasps everywhere (in my flowers), hanging around the playground set, etc.

The only changes I can note is that our house had to be treated for termites (they were swarming in our bedroom window!) but that wouldn't explain them missing every where else. I use pesticides very sparingly.

We still have honey bees, carpenter bees and plenty of butterflies. I'm just stumped on the wasps. Although it means no wasp stings this summer...they are good for my flowers and I don't hate the little buggers. WHere are they?
