White sticky round things and ants.
Comments (6)ok, this weekend I decided to trim the plant a bit. And I was looking at the ants and those little things on the branches. Then I saw a tiny white and fuzzy thing that moved. It is snow white and is just like a dry fuzz. I got it with a stick and it seemed to die. I saw another similar one. They move very slowly and you wouldnt even know it was an insect (if thats what it is). Id say it was about 1/4 of an inch, maybe less. Ive tried doing searches on this thing and cant find anything on it....See Moretiny, tiny white bugs in lawn
Comments (5)Small, whitish, or tannish, colored moths probably are the adult stage of sod webworms, usually not much of a problem in a good, healthy turf. Webworms do not always make those webs and may not need any control if there is little or no visible damage to the lawn. Your Rutgers Cooperative Extension Service will be of help if asked but this Penn State article may also be of some use. Here is a link that might be useful: About Sod Webworms...See MoreWhite, sticky, powdery stuff on succulents. Help!
Comments (4)Might be mealy bugs. look with a magnifying glass. Certainly there are some hard-water deposits on the foliage, but I assume you are not referring to those. Mealies are fairly easy to kill, take a spraybottle, fill with half water, half isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, (vodka works in a pinch but it is more expensive) and spray daily for several days--you have to kill the eggs as well as the adult bugs, and they can re-infest....See MoreWhite, sticky, powdery stuff on succulents. Comments (3)Gee - I've never seen something like this on a black plant. There's a little voice telling me that maybe it just looks different because of the color of plant. It may indeed be mealybugs. 'Tis the season. Or aphids. Or powdery mold. I've not had any mites so maybe that as well. Is it spreading to another Aeonium, or a different plant? Sticky makes me think of mealies or honeydew from aphids. I would suggest trying to treat as one would for mealies or aphids. This thread on my bout with mealies gives some guidance - http://forums.gardenweb.com/discussions/3893845/arrrg-mealybugs?n=12 I hope you get a quick, firm diagnosis so proper treatment can commence!...See More1janetta0
