The day they sprout they go outside into full sunlight

I have found a way that makes my seedlings hardened off from the day they first sprout. I plant my tomato seeds ten to a container, and the day I see the first seed sprout I take the lid off and the whole container goes outside in full sun as long as it is above 50 degrees F outside. I find that newly sprouted seedlings don't get sunburn as long as they go directly into full sun from the day they sprout. This also keeps them from reaching for the light and makes a non-leggy stocky seedling. Being outside the breeze also helps make for a thicker, stronger stem. If the temperature drops below 50 degrees or at night I bring the plants back inside and put them under my fluorescent lights.

However this method woulld only work for someone like me who is retired and can move the plants in and out as needed, and also one has to be in an area where it gets above 50 degrees F outside during at least part of the day.
