I answered on your other posting but thought i'd answer on this one to in case you don't see that one. I live here on Maui and I've bought some of my orchids from Lowe's. I think they order from exotic orchids of maui so you might want to check out there website. I did get a cool pitcher plant from Lowe's that I couldn't find anywhere else. Everything I bought from them has been healthy and beautiful.

I have a plant in the ground that I can take a rhizome cutting from. I purchased my plant from the Home Depot.The flowers on this plant have just about passed their peak (they are quite large and have some dead flowers on them).

Aloha Flowertrop, You can get plumeria cutting from just about anybody with a tree and there are a lot of them around. You are supposed to get them inspected at either the airports or the state plant inspection station. If you want to mail them, then take the plant, the box you want to mail it in and some packing tape to the inspection office. They will inspect the plant - for free - then let you box it up and they will put their seals on the tape. Then you can mail it. The cruise ship probably has plants for sale, ABC stores have plants for sale, WalMart, Kmart, the grocery stores, the plant stores, etc. all pretty much have the pre-packed, pre-inspected plumeria, ginger, ti, etc. plants for sale. They are basically everywhere. Plumeria cuttings don't seem to care if they are off the tree for a couple weeks before they get planted, either. So your parents might be able to bring them back in their luggage. Have them ask the cruise ship, they probably have a procedure for it. A hui hou, Cathy
