My windows was updating and messing up the entire computer. I had written a long note that I thought posted but apparently did not. This is a little project I have been working on. My oldest boy and I built this about 15 years ago when he was 10. We did everthing wrong, put the pond undera tree, didn't make it deep enough, wasn't level etc but we were proud of it. This winter a gopher tunneled under and cracked the liner. I made my husband dig it up and make it deeper and level and I redid the rocks. It turned out so well, I had to share. Next, a pave path around.

I received a wonderful package from Ann. First, there was a cute frog statue and a frog plant stake. Then, a bag of butterfinger Easter Eggs for the chocoholic in me.There was a little plastic Easter Egg with Blue Pea vine seeds. I will have to google this one, it is new to me. Also some plant markers and a magnetic note pad. Also a pretty little plaque with roses on it. I love the bird house picture frame, it will be perfect for a picture of my little grandbaby. And I look forward to reading the book of postive thoughts. Speaking of reading, I loved the card. It reminded me of the "deep thoughts" from SNL years ago. So Funny! There is still more.....Some recipe cards and plant fertilizer sticks, some beautiful pink Canna corms and a candle that looks like a yellow apple. And something I have never seen before but that is the cutest idea. A pansy grow kit that looks like a little miniture can of soda. You just pop off the top and water. I can hardly wait to get it started.

Jan, your package arrived yesterday. Sorry for the delay in posting. Tuesday is the busiest day of the week for me. I work nights and don't get off until 7am. Yesterday, I had to stay for overtime. So, straight to bed when I got home. Then, it's bowling night and I have to get up a little early and leave right away to make it on time, so no time for the computer. Today, I also worked late and then had to get up in the middle of the day to go to the ear doctor about this blasted ear/sinus infection I can't seem to get over. Then home and back to bed for a few more hours sleep. It is rough being on different hours from the rest of the world! I apologize for keeping you waiting on the posting.
I really liked the package. First off, a note on some beautiful stationary. What a treat. Then, some lovely pink glad bulbs ( which I will plant tomorrow on my day off )Also some packages of seeds (pink and white zinnas which do really well here)and a package of malva moschata pink bush. This is a new one for me and I will have to google it also. One thing about gardening, there is always a new plant to learn about. Also a bag of potpouri which smells so nice. And a very cute frog statue. You sent such thoughtful gifts and I am really enjoying them. Thank you so much.

I also got a package today from Kelley. First was a big bunch of Naked Ladies. I just love those. Also, some lovely stationary (did you make it?) that matchs the birthday card in the package. I love the birthday wish inside also. Inside the package was another decorative birthday box that contained the card and some Iris. Also Lime Ginger Coriander scrub and several packages of seeds...mixed siberian iris, chocolate rose pictore and other morning glories. I will also be out planting these tomorrow. Thank you so much for the wonderful package.

To answer Jan, I still have not heard from Steph or whomever was supposed to be May. I did go back to the original list and tried to contact the person that originally signed up but have not had a response. Should we look for a replacement for May? Does anyone have Steph's address to keep her in? Otherwise we need a July person also. This will work, I hope. Can we get a concensus and then we can ask Kelley to post again. I received a great package from Marie today. It had a beautiful set of candles that all had birthday names for the scents ... there is cake bake, warm sugar cookies and vanilla icecream macadamia....too cool. Also a lovely rose pin,a copper butterfly/daisy wind chime and a cute little decorated bucket full of chocolate candy. Also included was a box of pink marshmellow chickies. I recieved a pink beauty caladrium and two packs of hen and chicks. I have wanted to try both of these for some time but have never gotten around to getting them before. I have already planted them today along with the other bulbs I received from you wonderful ladies. I plan to start the seeds this weekend since there is a chance of rain tonight and I didn't want them to get washed away. (Keep your fingers crossed, we really need the rain) Last, but not least, Marie sent a beautiful birthday card, even the envelope was beautiful. Thank you so much Marie.

Jan, I am sorry I forgot the needlepoints. They were so pretty I had already hung them on my kitchen wall, then when I was posting I was going thru the box to see everything and I forgot that I had taken them out. You really did an excellent job on them and I just love how they look in the kitchen.

Kelley cards are beautiful. You do have a great talent Kelley, I am always envious of people with artistic talent (also of people who can sing since I can't carry a tune in a bucket) and you have both! The cards also say "A note from Karen" which I really like.

I received two very nice packages today.
The first was from Amy. Amy, I will have to copy your method of sending plants. The ones you sent looked so fresh that they might have just been dug out of the ground. Amy sent a golden tiara hosta, purple globe amaranth, mixed chrysanthumum. I don't have any of these and really enjoy getting them. Also a lovely book called "The Fragrant Garden" and an angel statue and a wooden hanger with "Bears on it" Very cute. And a very nice birthday card wishing me a happy 50. Thank you so much Amy. What a lovely package.

The other package from Diene was also delightful. It started off with chocolate "rabbit" bucks (coins made of chocolate of course).Also a bunny pez dispenser. There was also a wooden watering can stake that says welcome, a garden stone/plaque that says dream and has a water pump and snail on it and a bag of dirt that I haven't opened yet. Anything I should know about this Diene? I thought I would wait until tomorrow and I was outside to explore this. The card is also very cute, old women on the front talking about how many years since they planted Fred,Walter and Roger in the ground. Inside it says you are old when you start naming your rosebushes LOL. And the card was full of the cutest birthday confetti. Thank you so much Diene. What a wonderful package. This has been the best month!

I thought momcat was the person for May. I emailed her a few days ago and haven't heard back from her yet. Maybe we could let an active person from the winter months move up so they could receive plants.Maybe whoever is Dec. could be May and we could have our holiday exchange in Nov. and have nothing in Dec. as that can be a busy month! Just a thought! I'll go with the flow!

Hey ladies.....
How about we move Jan up one month so SHE can get some plants ,to May if Momcat doesn't respond in a few days, plug in our new July month person to June and bump everyone else up a month as well so that more people can get plants before it gets cold. The exchange can still be in November with December dropped off because of the holidays.
Maybe this is more confusing......hummmmmm.

I sent your package USM on Tues. Hopefully you will get it today or tomorrow! It's a very very very small package. I can't believe the enormous packages everyone has been sending! I too feel inadequate, at least volume-wise. But this one contained something that has been very dear to me. That is why it was so small. I hope you like it Karen!

I received a VERY WONDERFUL package from Bonnie today. She sent a beautiful flower candle in a pretty green dish, It looks like a flower inside the leaves of a plant. Then a pretty sunflower pot with white Acidanthera and red and purple gladiolus bulbs inside. Also a cute garden rock that says welcome. There was also a little birthday bag with seeds for Asters and red Astilbe and several bags of tea. Also a darling little pin that says Sprout. Then, a little note on the back of an oriental envelope wishing me a happy birthday, inside the envelope two beautiful book marks. The note said to keep on and give one away. I have a friend whose mother came from Japan and I know she would love one of these, so with your permission Bonnie, I am going to share with her. I love your package. Thank you so much for your wonderful and thoughtful gifts.

Just a thought on rearranging the birthday schedule. Moving people up sounds fine (after all, I did it) but we do have a December month person and it might be good to check with her before we change Dec since she would have to be a lot earlier. Diene, what do you think? I will go along with whatever everyone decides, whatever we decide.

I am traveling will post on Sunday when I get back but I have no problem with switching months to May and letting everyone else keep their birthday month if that is what you want. We have a new July. I will send that info on Sunday.
Please do not worry about what you send,it is the thought not the stuff. Quality beats quantity but I usually wind up sending quantity not quality. This is supposed to be fun for all so I personally do not want to hear anyone worry that their gift is meager unless it is not from the heart. Have a great weekend. diene

The Japanese bookmarks did come from Japan.
I've had them tucked away since I came back from Japan many years ago. I lived there when I was much younger and kept them for a nice occasion. We have such a nice group of ladies here...I thought it might be the right time to share them with someone who might appreciate them since they looked so " spring-like". The Japanese have such a gift of artistry I'm glad you enjoyed the other things too. Your summation of what was inside the box was stellar..I'm flattered, but you made it sound like it was so much more than what it really was. I'm just glad you liked what was sent.

I hope everyone received my info by email. I wasn't exactly sure what to say, so I babbled a little, LOL!
I've been around the garden web for several years, started out on the plant exchange/violet.
What I forgot to add was, I'm not picky at all. I'm so happy with handmade, handcrafted items. I love making crafts myself and know how much time and thought goes into making an item. So, don't hesitate sending me anything homemade, I would love it! I also collect suncatchers, cactus, succulents, and anything for a new moon garden.

I love trying new things, and am open to growing/trying anything.
