cucumber/tomato/basil/pepper combination?

Hi all - I could use some advice and guidence please. I have a tiny back yard and have a 3 ft diameter octagonal raised bed. I face south with alot of heat in my back yard due to a white stucco townhouse and cement sidewalk/patio. I am trying to combine "pretty" with functional in my garden and would like to grow cucmbers, tomatos, peppers and basil in the raised bed. I had thought of putting a "trellis" [takes up almost zero space] running on a north/south axis and planting a cucumber [train it up the trellis] then bush tomato and then a pepper plant on each side of the trellis and place a basil plant beside each tomato plant. Does this sound like too much? Should I do a cucumber on one side - tomato on the other with a pepper plant in front of each plus the basil? Help - I'm not good at this
