Praying Mantis and Roses

The other day I was walking around the garden, taking pictures of roses. From afar I noticed that something is obstructing the bloom of 'Sterntaler', on closer inspection I found a large Praying Mantis (about 2 1/2"). He was so cute, he moved his head and gave me a loooong look :)

A non-rose. Birch tree. Finally, I've got into shaping up my young tree. I planted it 2' tall 4 years ago. On the photo you can still see the pile of cut branches. Very pleased with the result.
