I been on vacation and doing lots of yard work. Planted a bunch of roses from the pot ghetto into a long bed I'm expanding. The weather's been hot, but not unbearable. But some of the blooms still fry by afternoon!!

and an unknown rose maybe someone might be able to help me ID:

It's probably a HT, is about 3ft tall. The bloom is a lovely ruffly, almost-painted pink on a white reverse. I have no idea what it could be, and no idea where I got it from. Probably was a mismarked bagged bareroot a couple of yrs ago. Only problem is, I don't remember ever seeing it before... or it wasn't mottled or speckled before. I had a rose that was marked CONTRAST, but I thought I had planted it in the ground somewhere. This one is still in a pot. I don't think it has any scent. (it's done blooming now so I can't go check)

Lovely roses and pictures as usual. Lots of roses I've never heard of before. I don't often post, but I'd like to say you all do a great job posting your lovelies, which I enjoy very much.

Absolutely beautiful! I really liked Chocolate Cherry Dreams and Bluegrass Music. Can't do the light blues here, so I admire those but can't get excited about them. Your pic of BYM made thrilled me...thrips or not it is lovely. Added her to my garden this year and can't wait to see if she makes a showing! Julie

Well thank you all!! Best photo is an outstanding compliment, seeing as there are some great photographers here on this board! :o) And enablers too, I must say! Kathy - I think that is the best photo I have of Strawberry Candy. I finally got a new camera, and if I set it on the "baby" setting, I can really get the true colors of some of the hard to capture daylily colors, such as Strawberry Candy. It is not pink, but not orange... and "bright coral" sounds so blah! lalalandwi - you are going to just love IPT, blooms are on the smaller side, but they are just so darned cute with the yellow wire edge. For some reason, daylilies with that feature really seem to capture me. IPT is another daylily that makes me all giddy when I see it bloom. EMMA TOMLINSON MCHUGH is one that I looked for, for a long time. Very different, but the pink is SO intense. Maryl - CIG is one of those flowers that kind of has a stippling effect that makes up its overall color. For me, it took a while to really get good blooms, even though the plant took off like a weed. It opens well, and has great branching and budcount. Sharon, IPT was really light pink the first year I had it. This year, the color has darkened up some, but it does fade a wee bit in the HOT Texas sun, so I get lighter flowers in the afternoon. Thanks all! ngraham - the good news is, VE multiplies like crazy. When she gets it right, the flowers are amazing. farmerbell - I didn't like that seedling when it first opened, but the blooms are getting better, and the bud count and branching are out of this world. In addition, it had instant rebloom this year. PP is my little beauty. Love her. Jessica - can you believe that some of them are just starting their first blooms? I got a bunch that are late and very late, so I could extend my season. Looks like it is working! Stargate Explosion just put up its first scape! Yippee! Nikki - I posted about the photo problem on your Star Child post.... hope it works out! I like PP too! okbt - she is a hardy little bugger... even though I slid down the hill and wiped out all 3 fans last fall, she came back beautifully and gave me quite a show. Love PP. Debra - thanks!! :o) MM is new to my garden (this spring), and is doing so well! Got another bloom this morning. Hoping the colors get just a mite brighter with settling. Gotta do my yoga, then I will try to post those Star Child photos... Thanks for all the kind words.

Flaurabunda, it's so funny you mentioned cameras. I was reloading some ancient photos into Facebook last night and it's quite startling to see how much my photo-taking has changed. Back in 2009 (the year of Gemini), I did not know how to handle my camera with the right sun exposures but even so Gemini was always beautiful; to this day save for Folklore and with Penny Lane (growing in sunlight) I've never seen a more perfectly formed rose. Kansas heat ruins rose shapes save for those 2 roses. Gemini always looked good no matter what the lighting; constantly spiraling, and your photo just reminded me so much of what she once was before she died. I loved that rose so much and she was a sport-fragranced one too. Double the Agony of losing her.... I'm afraid to get any other Gemini save from J&P because so few Gemini's have the deep coral, and I still hope to find one just like it.... I also check my local nursery but no dark coral Gemini yet...I bet you are probably being "too modest" or not breaking the hard truth for fear it'd make me "insane with grief" lol. Anyway, your photo of her was very "Haunting" and beautiful-- I felt like it was seeing her all over again.... I also forgot to say, I love your "Wall of Fire". Just brilliant! :D

Change of Heart can look like that if it blooms in the shade. Perhaps that one?

Thanks Jim. I love DORCAS. I have FRECKLES in the same bed, and I always thought I'd like it better, but DORCAS has much more interesting colors.

SoCal Kathy, you're right, it does sorta look like COH. But I have it and it's not quite the same. What's so weird is, I just don't ever remember seeing this one bloom before. Or maybe I got it mixed up with another one. Either way, I just don't know what the heck it might've been bought as. Guess I'll never know...

Great pix of some roses I've never seen before. Especially like Dorcas, and Sandra is a real stunner. Welcome Home I grow, that is a beautiful shot of it. How do you like Lynn Anderson? I'm trying it own-root, it's still small in a pot. I've heard lots of pro and con about this rose.

Hey Beth. I bet that felt good to make some more room for roses. I only have one in a pot right now and that is the band I just received from Burling. This is an absolute miracle for me. But you have so many roses that I know you must juggle a lot and with such gorgeous results.

All so pretty by the way. Dorcas and Fragrant Lace look like kissing cousins:) Thanks for those lovelies.

Paul, LYNN ANDERSON is a nice rose, but she doesn't repeat very well for me. She tends to grow about 6ft tall, and makes a nice plant for the back of the border, but the bloom production just isn't there. Could be my crappy soil, and the fact that she's in a somewhat shady spot too. Altho I have other roses near her that bloom well. So I dunno? Maybe the others aren't as fussy. And maybe she just needs some extra fertilizer and mulch to be happy. You may have better results in your situation.

Hey Kate! Yeah it was nice to get some of the potted ones in the ground. And some of them are already happier than they were in the pots. But this morning I see the deer have been back! Auuggghhhh!! Guess I'll have to spray my repellent today. Dangit!

Oh I have been looking for Stephanie Diane for sometime now, were did you get yours?? My daughter is named Stephanie and I have been wanting one for my garden for years but can't find one. can you post where you found it??

Carrie, I actually rooted my STEPHANIE DIANE from cuttings I got from a guy I used to trade with about 10-12yrs ago. I see that Cliff Orent at EuroDesert Roses also has her. You could email him and see if he has any plants available.
