Changed the background color on the Word doc? Do you mean the message box? How did you do that?!?

Somewhere in my Word program I changed the document screen or it might have been in my windows screen the one where you can pick out the colors of the desk top etc. I can't remember how I did it. But it is nice I don't have to write on stark white. And reading files is easier on the eyes.
If I can figure it out I'll let you know.

I have only black veranda on an off-white background. I did it by trial and error: something like ~control panel ~appearance ~something else, ~ color. I think. My Firefox is off white in a grey direction and my IE is off white in a cream direction.

My trial and error was quite tedious. The people over at computer help may have a link to a site that gives specifics. Tell them what browser you are using.
