Status indicators for Name That Plant forum (& beyond?)

How about a way that the original poster can indicate when they feel that a plant has been adequately identified? Something that can be seen from the main forum page. This will help prevent plants slipping away unidentified and help the people who are looking to solve something zoom in on the unsolved ones.

Or, it MIGHT be better- I'm not sure- to have a little SOS signal that comes up automatically but then disappears each time someone posts a reply and then the poster has to somehow reset the signal if the plant has not been identified. This would be more work for the poster and MIGHT be offputting to guessers but it would insure that posts didn't appear to remain unsolved when in fact the poster just never marked them solved.

This might be something that could be expanded to other forums with benefit. Some threads are open-ended, thought provokers, musings, but others are in search of a specific answer. Perhaps there would be a way to designate which type of posting you were making. If it was open-ended it would have one symbol on main forum pages. If it was looking for specific information, then it could use nearly an identical formula to the Name That Plant Forum with the original poster deciding when the matter was satisfied.
