The following lemon curd recipe is part of Sol's recipe for meringue daisies. It is tart and very good. It is different from the ones above in that it uses only the egg yolk which is convenient when making it to go with meringues or an egg white based cake. Lemon Curd 4 large egg yolks ½ cup + 2 tablespoons sugar 3 fluid ounces lemon juice 4 tbsp (2 oz) unsalted butter, softened Pinch of salt 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest In a heavy noncorrodible saucepan, beat the yolks and sugar until blended. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened, but still liquid enough to pour. DonÂt allow the mixture to boil or it will curdle. When the curd has thickened, pour through a strainer. Cool, and store in airtight container in the fridge. The curd will continue to thicken in the refrigerator.

Here's one I copied this winter. (I don't even remember where I found it so can't credit anyone.) Also, I have never made it, so can't comment on it's accuracy. Pickling Spice INGREDIENTS 2 tablespoons/20 grams black peppercorns 2 tablespoons/20 grams mustard seeds 2 tablespoons/20 grams coriander seeds 2 tablespoons/12 grams hot red pepper flakes 2 tablespoons/14 grams allspice berries 1 tablespoon/8 grams ground mace 2 small cinnamon sticks, crushed or broken into pieces 4 bay leaves, crumbled 2 tablespoons/6 grams whole cloves 1 tablespoon/8 grams ground ginger INSTRUCTIONS Lightly toast the peppercorns, mustard seeds, and coriander seeds in a small dry pan, then smash with the side of a knife just to crack. @maire_cate - if your DIL is creative and likes puzzles, I think that she would enjoy one of these types of kits. There is a subreddit about book nooks and these kits - people discuss which ones are super difficult and which ones are too easy. They also provide people with tips + post photos of ones they've created. I haven't looked at it for awhile - so, I can't remember the name of the subreddit. @eld6161 - I have always liked miniatures. I purchased a really nice (well made + large) doll house for one of my daughters (plus some furniture to start that we could add to) - I thought it would be a fun project for us to do together (adding wood flooring/wallpaper/shake roof/painting the exterior - it's a Victorian style house). She had zero interest in it. Made me really sad. However, I hope that my granddaughter becomes interested (she's not quite one yet). My great niece is very interested in it - so, she can help me when she gets a bit older if my granddaughter shows no interest. Interestingly, my grandson thinks that miniatures are really cool. He loves to open and close all of the doors/drawers of the furniture (the doll house is stored in the basement - too large to move up right now - but I grabbed the box of furniture) + he liked putting all the plates/pots/pans/dishes/food/etc. in the refrigerator + other furniture for the kitchen (he uses my wood stairs to make a house). I bought him a set of miniature items for a grocery store as one of his bday presents (he just turned four). The two metal carts look exactly like real grocery store carts + the plastic baskets that are used for small shopping trips also look like the real ones. We played with it for over two hours yesterday (I set up a little store - the cash register even comes with stacks of dollar bills that look pretty realistic). He used his Paw Patrol characters as the shoppers/workers in the grocery store. It's pretty cute to listen to him make the characters talk to each other. I am making a Harry Potter book nook for my oldest daughter (my grandson's mom) for her birthday. There are videos on how to add stuff to make everything look even more realistic. She loves Harry Potter - I know that she will think the book nook is cool to add to the book shelf with her HP collection of books. While she is creative/artistic, she just doesn't have the time right now with the two littles to make the kit herself. There are a few different ones - so, if she likes the one I put together, I think she may want to try one of the other HP kits.

My husband has a heated jacket wearing during motorcycle ride in winter. The wires and heating elements are embedded within the jacket, so no laundry washing should be done. However, i do not wish to use commercial dry cleaning cleaner, due to the toxicity. Thanks.
