Lowes and perhaps local nurseries run pot recycling programs. Ask around, but don't expect to get 50. You will have to buy some. Dennis

I hate math. I measured by big pots again, but mine aren't for permanent, only for growing on when necessary. I measured 14" across the top, 10" across the bottom, and 14" in height. Assuming a radius of six I calculated about 7.3 gallons. I can imagine that being close. The sticker in the pot said capacity was about 1.25 cubic feet, and that conversion to gallons was saying over nine gallons. THAT I don't believe. Of course, I am pretty spatially challenged, too. And stink at math. I am bowing out of this conversation.

look at bottom of a couple other pots, get name of manufacturer, look up on website/call them, and find out who their local wholesaler is. call wholesaler, tell them you want to buy some, who can you contact. I've found 3 local mom and pop wholesalers who will retain them to me in San Diego Co. I get them for $3.50 a pop. You can also get your resale license and buy them wholesale directly (but make sure you understand your state's requirements for reporting purchases with resale license that aren't destined for resale).

You can buy the seeds. They come in mixed colors of bright pink (most common color), softer pink, yellow (least common), red, orange (rare), white and peach/apricot, hence the name Summer Carnival. They bloom the first year, unlike traditional HHs. They reseed very well, but new seed needs to be introduced every two years to keep the colors going, as they revert back to the bright pink, it being the stronger gene color. I have grown them myself. Easy to grow. Color variations are iffy. "Like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're going to get". I have never gotten a yellow or orange, even though it is shown on the seed package. My mother did though, so it is possible. The most common color I have ever gotten is the bright pink. So each color is on it own separate plant. Not one plant branching with all those colors. OKAY? A dose of Fish Emulsion Tea once a month will keep them growing and producing blooms all summer.
