salvia reptans West Texas form

I bought three of these plants in May one from High Country Gardens and two from a local nursery mostardi. They are very similar so far except much greener to salvia azurea. The only problem that I have is I finally got one bloom this weekend I wonder if anyone grows them and if so Do they prefer an acid or alkaline soil? I know they like a rocky well drained soil and sun. but wasn't sure if I should fertilize them or not to get more blooms Thanks. Here's a picture of one and only bloom
