in philippines, we got 2 season. rain or shine. i failed to germinate chive for almost 9 months now, and i cant find a growing plant around my neighborhood. have use seed from different vendors and have mix several growing soil. but no success. once i read about keeping seed in darkness. which i got some 10 sprout out of 50 seeds and i cant duplicate that after. some luch. now i still get 5 food boxes of seeds under germination for over a month now. our temp now is 24 to 28 deg C. should be perfect. what else there to try?

The last three days have been very interesting. Yesterday I killed 18 asps, the day before that 10, and on Saturday 6. To say I have an infestation is an understatement. Orange oil works but it has to be straight out of the bottle and you have to coat them with it. After 3 days of using my preferred method of picking them off and squishing them, I resorted to Spinosad and when that ran out, a good dose of Ortho Bug B Gone. One or the other had some effect, since we saw their dead bodies falling out of the neighbor's trees. The problem is, their venom doesn't die with them and they can still be a problem, even dead. They seem to prefer hackberries, but also love my rose bushes, but are not plant specific. So far I've pulled them off of a weeping Mulberry, an orchid tree, a beauty berry bush, turk's cap, and a clock vine. Now we're finding them on statuary, planters, and pots as they come down out of the trees For anyone who is curious, here are some photos. Can you see the three in this picture--a pale yellow, a golden yellow and a silver grey? This one is charcoal grey. These blend in so well with their surroundings. Finally, a bright yellow one...Some are even striped like a tabby cat.

I heard that to make PHP work with Windows xx server you need an add on product called ChilliSoft or something like that. Besides that, back in my programming job we all were waiting for the day that unix and all the "x"'s would get togeather and standardize. That day never happened, for that reason I stay clear of unix base stuff, not that I have anything against it, I had to do Dos to Unix command conversions often. So I'll stay with ASP even though I don't like MS's manopoly on the market. Thanks folks.

Moringa seeds have a short storage life; I've had seeds from both trades & commercial sources that had poor germination - or none at all. I had good germination with seeds from ECHO (a Florida-based NGO), and with the seeds in the bright green foil pouch... can't remember the brand. The latter were the seeds I used this year, had almost 90% germination, using soil-less seed starter & purified water. The pots were bottom-soaked over night after planting, then excess water poured off. A little liquid fertilizer added to the water will increase germination. I would not recommend soaking the seeds en masse, since one bad seed could infect & destroy the entire lot. That might be what happened to the first attempt mentioned in the OP. Moringa is tropical; in a temperate climate, it benefits from being grown in a warm, sheltered location. Treat it like okra, they are about equally sensitive to cool conditions. The South side of a building works well, the reflected heat & shelter from wind are both beneficial. I have also had good results using pole beans as a wind break (at least 2 rows running E-W), with a row of Moringa on the sheltered South side. In my short summers, the trees might only reach 4-5' tall... but I plant them closely (about 8" apart in the row seems optimal) and get several large pickings.
