Lrae....FJ is one of my favorite dbls also. She usually puts on a show for me. TC is new in my garden this spring and I love what I see so far!. Nancy...no magical potion used...just lots of back breaking work, but I enjoy every minute of it. I do try to give them plenty of water, which right now is an all day affair since we haven't had much rain for a month now. I'm quite sure yours are just as pretty. :) Jessica....I'm sure FJ will do really well for you. Thanks Leslie - Vintage has some great roses - I was there yesterday for the Dirt Day clean up and boy what a wonderful place they have - it's rose heaven! I'm most difinetly going back to look at the gardens next spring. Thank you Ron - I've been meaning to try out Photoshop and do some fun stuff with the pictures, might get around to it eventually! Msjam, Thank you and yes Enchantress is very fragrant, and keeps the colour unlike melody who loses her colour as she opens (at least she does in my yard). Thanks Bernice - Kisme and Lordly Oberon are new - just got them a few weeks back, but I'm really excited about seeing how it does next year. Bibi Maizoon is one of my favourite Austins cos of it's form and fragrance, just wish it was a more healthy rose, I got mine from Wayside, I think if it does not do any better next year I'll try replacing with from somewhere else that might sell it and see if it does any better - though I've heard it's a troublsome rose. Thanks all. My garden cum plot is in a state of mess (as usual) and a state of flux with digging taking place here and there so wide pictures will not be very exciting I'm afraid. We also got less rain and warmer temps than usual this winter which adds up to the mess. I have been irrigating all winter long. Mme JG pictures of open blooms will be coming. All these buff coloured (Dijon) Teas look very similar to me. Mme JG is a bit peachy-apricoty and carries a nice fruity scent not present to all of these roses. This is supposedly the climber but it's not climbing very much yet. It seems a slow rose both in growth and in rebloom. My OBs tend to be very variable, both in form and in colour, depending on the weather, the season, the bloom age and their state of happiness. Melissa, maybe warmer weather will make the blooms lighter. I'm sure there are many strains of it around. OB self seedlings seem to be quite stable from what I've read so there must be many 'different' roses around carrying the OB tag. My plants are locally sourced but I have reason to think the stock came from the UK originally. zipplty1 my SdlM plant is budded so I wouldn't know about a band. It seems to be taking off nicely altough the foliage is not what I would call very healthy. Anyhow, having about 8 buds on a plant less than a foot tall is impressive. Maybe I should be disbudding but I can't since the blooms are so nice and smelly.. David, the Sanguinea (bought as Bengal Beauty from the UK) is slowly building structure but seems quite healthy. It's a much 'slower' rose than Mutabilis which I also have in pots beside it. These are budded bareroot plants received last October.
