David Austin Celebration Won't Bloom...

daisyhair

I have a Golden Celebration that is about 6 months old. It's growing like crazy (about 3feet tall already) very leggy (bought it to train as a climber) and beautiful.. looks VERY healthy and green but it won't bloom!

I have it in a 20" pot, same way I started my other David Austins here. I have two other D.A. types in a pot that are blooming better. (I plan to get all of them in the ground next year).

It has had only two flowers and they were very small. I am new at growing roses (Only second year) and have done lots of reading about why a rose won't bloom but it's confusing.. I see "too much water, not enough water, too much fertilizer, not enough fertilizer and not enough sun".. It gets sun all day, until around 5pm.

This is one of the reasons I start them in pots. Do you think it needs to be moved to an area that gets 12+ hours of sun?

I only fertilized it when I planted it (per David Austin bag instructions).

I read about this rose having tons of blooms.. the pix are one of the reasons I chose it!

Any ideas my rose guru friends?
