Lots of interesting info in that list. If the water usage of wheatgrass is really that low, I may be able to cut back more than I was planning. Although I probably don't water the KBG as much as it would like, so maybe I'll stick with my current plan.

I keep intending to post a picture of my lawn, but the pictures I took last were all washed out. One problem is that my lawn isn't only wheatgrass--I've been overseeding my KBG/fescue lawn with three types of wheatgrass. I will say, though, that there really isn't much difference in the areas that are predominated by KBG and those that are predominated by the wheatgrasses. I can tell a difference if I look closely enough, but it really can't be seen from the street or even the sidewalk when you're looking casually. The main time you can tell is when there is a patch of grass that has gone dormant but there are a few tufts of green grass in the dormant patch. Those tufts are wheatgrass.

I've always been fascinated by water and as I got older, human population and how that affects it now and in the future. I try to be very water conscious (my family thinks a little too much), but we've all learned to live with less.

My son just told me today that a classmate at school was washing his hands next to him in the bathroom and he left the water running forever while he was goofing around. My son said it "hurt his ears" to hear the water run and finally couldn't take it and asked him if he knew how much water he was wasting. The kid just stared at him like he was crazy.

I'm very interested in bpgreen's experiment of planting wheat grass right into KBG. Please keep us posted as to how it goes and I may try it next year too :)
