Honey Bouquet and companion

This rose is somewhat shaded by a lemon tree and does just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rose. It is truly wonderful. You maybe can't tell from my photos but it is a honey yellow color. Mine is almost never bright yellow like some photos I have seen.

Such a pretty rose - I love that little bit of peachiness in the center, surrounded by ivory.

I had mine for 3 full years and it never got over 4 1/2 feet tall. A very good rose, but it does need to be placed in a sheltered location away from cold north winds. Since mine was always in bloom it always got hit by the first cold northern blast of fall. The canes were not even close to slowing down production so after 3 years of damage I had to remove mine from it's exposed location. I think you will really like this rose if you have the right spot for it.

Sorry I don't have photos, but I do grow both and they are lovely, especially Gingersnap. It is a striking orange color on large floribunda blooms and my second year plant is just really beginning to establish itself. I think that in one more year it will really take off and gain more bush height and bloom even more. John

Hydrangea quercifolia 'Little Honey'...companion??

'Little Honey' is not nearly as robust as the larger, straight green forms of H. quercifolia, so site accordingly :-) It can also scorch if exposed to hot summer sun in the afternoon, so I'd provide at least partial shade. I pair mine with plants that have a burgundy or purplish hue - purple leaved forms of wood spurge, Euphorbia amygdaloides or xmartinii, a purple leaved daphne (D. houtteana), heucheras and an iris hybrid that forms maroon flower buds that open to yellow. And Japanese forest grass, Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola'. I like the contrast of the gold foliage against the purple and the fall color of the hydrangea picks up those same burgundy tones (as does the grass). Not all of these will be hardy for you in zone 5 but you get the idea and I'm sure you can find some zonal appropriate alternatives.

These are beautiful roses and I love the colors of that lily. My daylilies are just starting to bloom but I don't have anything in this shade, that's beautiful.

Beth, this alstromeria gets about 3 1/2 feet tall. My deeper pink one so far is only 2 feet tall or less.

Very beautidul rose, it is really of honey colour! I imagine it smells of honey, when I saw this rose, I imagined the taste of honey, delicious :)? Is it a floribunda?
