Susie, you may want to visit the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens on your visit. It is in Gainesville and although I've never been there (I just never seem to find the time) I hear it is really nice. They are getting ready for their big annual spring festival in March. The azaleas may be in bloom when you are here. It is a little early but we have had a non-winter and a few are starting to bloom here. If you do go, let me know when. It may just be the excuse I can use to finally make it over there. Laura, I'd definitely love to play in February's swap. I do need to let you (any everyone else) know though that this coming Wednesday (the 31st) I will be in surgery, so I won't be able to reply to the partner list until Thursday. But don't worry I'll be able to get my box out on time!! It's only a minor surgery, same day in and out, only a few weeks to recover (or days if my body responds well)... just getting my gallbladder removed :)

Don't mean to gross anyone out, just thought it was important to let you all know that I'd be MIA for a few days.

~Looking forward to the sawp, been going through my seeds to find, red, pink ones, etc..I have a "special" seed box, and darned if i can find it, DH re-arranged the bedroom a few weeks back, and now it is MIA!! hope i can find it, as i had some nice seeds in there.
~Have picked up a few things for the swap, but am keeping to the $$ limit, which is such a cool idea Laura!, good thing there are alot of good sales going on right now! My daughter also had some things i can add to my box, so they dont count on the spending limit!! hehehehehe!! Cant wait to see who i get paired up with, thats always a very exciting part of the swaps for me!
~I am feeling alittle "off" today, so time for a nap, DH is trying to fix DS computer, ARGH!, so i am staying out of there way!!

Elizabeth, so happy to have you join our group. Tina will be a great big sis! You will find that we do a lot of teasing on here, in case you haven't read that already. For instance, Tina, you big sis, is our resident lushie.

Prayers will be with you during your surgery. Let us know how it goes. And just because it is an in and out surgery doesn't mean that you can go 100 mph afterwards. Take it easy for at least a couple of days.

So, the sun is out today, it looks gorgeous, but it is very deceiving. It is -7 outside right now at 1:25!!! But with the sun coming in the windows and the fireplace going it is nice and cozy. I've been looking at gardening magazines, seed and plant catalogs, and reading a Koontz book from Carol. Do need to get some homework done sometime, though.

went to bingo today won the michigan progressive for
$2300. I have never won a jackpot that high & I still am shaky :)) very hard to believe but its true ,
also won the $350.00 game & 2 games had to split what a day almost $2700. today my friend yung mi she won about $200. to think we almost didn't go.

Don't have to worry about the cost of my trip Now :))
daddy is also excited about it when i put all the money in front of him when i got home ;))

well clipped the wings but didnt do no good they are still all over me time to put them to bed & try to come down to earth after my big wins today ;))

Am I the only one that didn't know Daylight Savings Time begins on March 11th instead of April 2nd for 2007? Wow, I'm so excited about that. Everyone around here wishes it didn't change year a round at all. And now instead of changing back in Oct. its Nov. 4th.....didn't know if all of you knew that.... I had no idea. Oh well, I'm usually slow learning these things....I do NOT watch news, etc....

Thanks Tina, I needed that info on the amaryllis....also. Trish, my Apple Blossom is soooo beautiful, 3 huge blooms! I've heard of people around here planting them outside, Any advise on that from girls in the SE? Have you had any planted outside? How did they do?

Mary Ellen, I may have the wrong board but Sassy spent the afternoon at Lowes picking out light fixtures! I sware, I'm good to go now, nothing has driven me more crazy than paint colors & light fixtures! Thank God thats over! Painter comes today actually, lol. I'll be so glad to be speaking to you girls in a month snuggled in my new home......I have never been so stressed in my life! lol

Susie, My DH always clipped just wing. That keeps them off balance so they can't fly up but can keep from really being injured if they fall. That may help for the next round.

Maryanne, that is some fabulous looking bread. I'm comeing to your house. Oh, the coleus are mostly looking good. I have 16 plants growing and it looks like 14 are different. The colors are not real bright hight now but should perk up as the days get longer.
Daylight Saving time sounds good right now but, no , I had not a clue it was starting earlier. Who decides these things and why? Well, maybe I don't want to know. LOL

Amaryllis from what I read should be kept steadily growing through spring and summer then "rested" in the fall. I still have two that have not started growing but the others have bloomed beautifully.

I'm still in awe!! to think my G 49 CAME OUT JUST ON THE 56 th # TO WIN THE MICHIGAN PROGRESSIVE It was $2300. & when I got the check I new it was real :))

Lucky you!! I think the most I ever won was about $300. I haven't gone in a long time. I used to like to sit near the old ladies who smoked. They were the funniest women! Now that there is no smoking allowed, I don't even know if they go anymore.
I'm going to a Chinese auction for a Catholic school that I attend every year this coming Sat. so send some of your luck my way : )

Try not too stress too much about moving! Though I remember moving with Gary into our house and we ended up getting in a huge fight. We went to his parents and were still arguing. His parents took my side. Nothing make a fight get worse than that, lol! No, we kissed and made up. It really was stress related. Though to this day he still claims his parents like me better than him : )

I don't know about the eggs. But yes the California citrus crop got pretty much wiped out. The estimate I saw was 80%. So look for really high prices until next winter. The strawberries are going to skyrocket too, especially with Valentine's coming, but of course, that will last just a few months.

I'm still waiting on the Amaryllis to bloom. I have it next to the Aerogarden and it is growing well with the light.

Oh, the lettuce in the Aerogarden is getting big enough to pick! So it took a month, not bad.

Laura~ I have a blue lobelia. You are welcome to a chunk of it in the spring if you are interested.

Remy, if you get leaves on the amaryllis before it blooms.... then it is not going to bloom this year. I have one that did that but I have two that look fine and still feel nice and firm but they have not grown anything at all.
One of the two "duds" is a more expensive double one that I special ordered. I never had that happen before but I'll just watch and see. Maybe they will bloom for Easter. One of the others is now blooming on it's fourth stalk for this season.

Chow Fat. what did I miss besides my monthly boxes from Mellen, I sure miss those. Maryanne-I got your sweet package yesterday and could not get through the letter for crying. My DH had to read it. The Scared Heart Spiritual Society plaque for Dad was divine.
