The blisters are appearing in exactly and only in the areas where I brushed up against the plant. I felt the quick little sting when I brushed up against it at the time (similar to brushing up against a thistle or rosebush - like small, innocuous scratches), which only developed into blisters the next day. I have no known allergies (plant, food, latex, etc). Though maybe I have a special sensitivity to whatever this plant is! Thanks for the help!! :)

I'm rather proud that I did the right thing... I marked each row of seeds in my flat with the variety name, date planted, and the seed source! I've made the mistake in the past of not tagging pots with seeds and/or rhizomes or roots... and having to wait until they sprouted and grew a bit before being able to identify them! I find myself staring at pots of soil, thinking, "Now, what in the world did I plant in there, and how could I have thought that I'd remember what it is?!" I'm not certain, but I think that after time, the blonde dye begins to sink into my skull and affect my brain patterns! LOL!

Hi there! That was me. They are annuals. Very tender in fact. The first frost zapped 'em. I don't know if they will reseed in the garden from one year to the next. I should know in a few weeks. I am keeping an eye on the spots where I had them last year and hoping they come back all by themselves. I'll let you know what they do! But even if they don't come back on their own, the seeds are amazingly easy to harvest. When the little flower dries up, you'll be able to rub the seeds right out. very easy. I had my medallion flowers planted in a bed on the north side of my house. They were out towards the front where they got a good bit of sun during the summer. I had two, one that I fertilized and one that I didn't. I can tell you that they really don't need any fertilizer. The one that got some extra fertilizer sure did get big, but it got leggy toward the end of the summer. The one without the extra food stayed nice and busy. One ended up about 2 feet tall and the other 3 feet tall. Bloom color was yellow. Nice daisy like small flowers all over. They are supposed to be relatively drought tolerant. Of course with all the rain last year I didn't have to worry so much about that. When we did have a couple dry spells they did just fine. Never a sign of wilting or bugs. Hmmm, what else? Oh, I never had to deadhead them or trim them and they looked nice ALL YEAR LONG. I'll include a link. Enjoy! They really are very pleasing flowers.
