Ispahan, never disappoints, charming old fashioned blooms and sweet scent, just starting to bloom for me:

Oh, droooooooooooooooool!!! So beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!I love Momoka (HT of perfection!), Ispahan, Jacques Cartier, and yes, your Climbing America brings all the memories why I love this rose so much. Yes, it can sometimes BS, and yes, in zone 5 it is fragile and probably won't ever climb, but I would never be without this rose either.

Dry rootballs are often the result of textural differences between the soilless potting medium or claylike field soil the plants came from the nursery in and the soil on the new site. If the rest of the bed was moist with the heucheras only being dry then it was something like that - something involving the heucheras specifically - and not the overall conditions. This should have been apparent when these were dug and pulled apart(?) but heucheras specifically are prone to weevil larvae gnawing the roots off and leaving a sort of nearly rootless husk sitting on top of the ground, unable to keep itself turgid without diligent watering - and maybe not even then. The same thing is common here with primroses.

Hi, I had the same problem and yes it will spread to the whole plant and all your tomatoes. It's a Fungus, and it will kill you plants very fast. Thanks to Sharon Love Joy's book Trowel & Error, I found a recipe for diluted milk that saved my plants. I used a 3:1 solution(3 parts water, 1 part milk). First I trimmed off all the affected leaves/branches ( this will make your tomatoes look like scarecrows, but it's the only way)-Dont compost the diseased foliage. Then spray with diluted milk for several days. I do it in the shade but early enough that the plants have time to dry before evening coolness sets in. My plants are saved! I cant believe it worked! BTW I live in coastal (June Gloom) CA, in case you were wondering about the plants locale. Hope it works for you, Ziggy

No I dont think it is Pig Face dont you hate common names, I bought a punnet of Portulaca Sun Jewels and this was in it. I thought is may have been in the mesembryanthemum family, livingstone daisy. ice plant Its so confusing common names, when I was a young tacker Pig Face was that succulent with the bright pink flowers that grew in the sand on the Victorian beaches. Do they call all those type of plants Pig Face now, someone will ID it right Thanks anyway HJ.

Just when I said "NO MORE ROSES" now I see Jacques and Isaphan and luuuuuuuuv them. I love peonies and any roses that look like peonies. They are all gorgeous. Judy
