Those are the biggest ones I've ever seen. I wonder what it looks like when there are a lot of blooms?

OMG! Bill those are some of the most beautiful trees that I've ever seen! Where are they growing? I know the nursery is in FL but are those particular trees there also? It's so strange that in all the time I've spent in Florida I've never noticed any plumerias.

I think all of those are in Florida. I remember when Alan Bunch came to talk at a club meeting that he said that the house where the hot pink is was sold and the new owner cut down the tree. What a loss! I think that first tree is very old because the Guillot's Sunset in Bud Guillot's yard is smaller in the trunk and smaller in overall size and it is 50+ years old. I have heard of plumies that are over 100 years old in Central America. Since the first ten years a plumie looks like a bush, we are fooled to forget that they are really trees. Those 200 plants that needed 200 sq.ft when you bought them will need 8.000 square feet in less than a decade, and 30,000 sq ft in less than two decades. A good reason to be very picky about what you buy and to learn the art of good pruning= unless you have several acres in a tropical environment (wouldn't that be great!!!) Imagine a forest of several hundred different cultivar plumie trees like those in the picture= Disneyland for plumie lovers.

I can't imagine someone cutting a beautiful tree like that down. Unfortunately I'll never have to worry about my plumies getting too big.

Ahhhh...those are great pictures! If that were the only worry we had about our "flowering trees," that they got too big!!! :) Thank goodness for this group and all its Plumaholics!
