Peri - Peri Hybrid?

Is anyone aware of a existing pepper that has the flavor of a Peri-Peri but not the heat? I received some Peri-Peri seeds from a friend from Zimbabwe but one of the plants produced larger sized peppers with the flavor but not the heat.

actually the term "Piri Piri" is a term used for a few different pepper most of which are of Portuguese influence

Fidalga Vermelha (red)
Fidalga Larangha (orange)
Fidalga Amarelia (yellow)

all are larger than the common African birds eye or "African Devil" as it is also called, but are all still called "Piri Piri" because they are used in traditional Piri Piri sauces of which there are a few ethnic types

there are a few other of which i do not know there other names but they are also called Piri Piri throughout Africa,Brazil,Portugal, and any other Portuguese influenced country

Forty is young for such severe symptoms. Maybe try talking to someone at a health food store about herbal remedies and possibly drop a few pounds if you're overweight, since hormones and weight seem to be connected somehow. Good luck!

Yes, I've had periods of very sensitive, swollen, uncomfortable breasts. When I had periods it would go away in a day or two, during perimenopause, lasted much longer and more severe. Got really bad when I was adjusting progesterone up and down. Now that I've gotten my progesterone dosage smoothed out, they are always a bit swollen but not terribly uncomfortable. It seems odd, I always thought that they would shrink to nothing when I went through menopause!

My boss said she experienced that right when she was in the middle of menopause where it felt she couldn't breathe good. She is extremely healthy, and slender. It went away for her after menopause. I have had that heavy feeling before also where it is hard to breathe in my 40's occasionally and my heart was checked out by stress test, echo and EKG, I was told my heart was perfect. I think menopause can cause a lot of symptoms and it is irritating when someone says that something is NOT a symptom of menopause. I have nocturnal panic attacks and they started at 46 years old and only now at 50 starting to decline a bit, but online a lot of reputable medical specialists will say this has nothing to do with menopause, all the while they will say "anxiety" does. So if multiple women are saying, HEY I HAVE THIS AND I AM IN PERIMENOPAUSE, it could be something to it and be due to menopausal symptoms whether Doctors want to believe it or not. Right now, there is not enough research done to rule OUT any symptoms of menopause, and most Doctors are themselves men, or women Doctors who just happened to NOT go through a particularly symptom, but don't discredit it just because you yourself did not experience it, or because you did not learn that as a menopausal symptom. It makes women go crazy when people say, NO that is not menopause. I mean, you don't really know.

I am so sorry you are going through this. And yes, it's just too young to have to face hormone depletion. With no ovaries, yes, you would be considered menopausal. I am a little shocked that your doctor didn't discuss replacement therapy for a woman your age. Any woman, no matter the age, can experience blood clots on birth control pills. However, there are other ways to replace the missing hormones. Many physicians believe that the bioidentical hormones are much better for your body than the synthetics, as found in birth control pills. Don't give up, I know this isn't easy. But if you can find a combination that makes you feel better, it would be a blessing.

It is the Birds-Eye pepper I meant to refer to. They may be landrace seeds, but my friend that gave me the seeds is not aware of these being grown on purpose in Zimbabwe.

im not aware of them purposeful being grow in his county but i think a few other African countries do cultivate them like in south Africa
yes they do grow wild in most places but there are many species including the Birdseye that are cultivated on purpose as they are an intricate part of my ethnic dished especially fish, because they are highly prized and in high demand their is a need to grow them

this is only from what i think i know about the subject

many poorer country cook with hot peppers as much as habit as they do because the quality of some of the food is not the best

oh yes the landrace issue i almost forgot

they very well could be , as they gain or lose certain attributes but this does not constitute hybridization because for a organism to qualify as a hybrid it is generally cross bred or genetically modified, landrace constitutes a plants own ability to adapt to an environment it has been grown in for many generation, so yes they may very well be landrace seeds but this sound alot like purposeful growing and not just letting nature take it course, they can lose heat and grow bigger

my piri piri and small and very hot!! my seeds originated from south Africa
