It looks healthy and happy! Differences in light and temperature will change the colors of the blooms sometimes. Is it outside?

They truly fit into a pot! I love them.

Right now, it is indoors with air-conditioning ... It is very hot outside, like 90F yesterday. I guess they would have stopped flowering if placed outside. I agree that it is best to keep them outside with cool nights.

This is a Kordana patio tree rose with a pot rose grafted onto a root stock. It will need full sun and it will help to trim back the stems as blooms finish as it will help keep a nice form. I would recommend a larger pot to help keep it moist and not drying out in the summer. Regular water and fertilizer about once a month should keep it growing and blooming well. In a Zone 8B this rose should be quite hardy outdoors just be sure to let it go dormant in the fall so it gets ready for winter - no fertilizer after early August and leave it outside to adjust to the cooler temperatures. In February prune the top of the rose back to about 4 inches from the graft so that it keeps a nice form next year.

See the link below for a thread from the mini rose forums about saving a mini rose gift. First, you'll want to let the rose sit outside in the shade for a few days. You want it to get used to the outdoors. Be sure to keep it watered. Those pots that the minis are in are usually fairly small. Then follow the instructions for separating the roses. There are usually 3-4 in a pot. Once they are separated then you can go ahead and plant them or pot them. You can fertilize them once they've bloomed but not before. Too much fertilizer will hurt the roots. I hope that helps. You'll have to see if they get blackspot or other diseases in your climate. They're usually good here. Next spring you'll have to cut off the dead canes, but that's easy, and then it will regrow. Here is a link that might be useful: How to save a potted gift rose

Give them time. They're settling in and growing roots. When they've got enough root ball they'll start to grow and bloom. Roses need about an inch of water per week. If you're not getting enough rain for that then you'll need to water them. It's better to give them a deep soaking once or twice a week rather than just a little bit every day.

My mom didn't want to have to weed, so she put down the black stuff (I hope it was fabric and not plastic) but then covered it with white stone, which just reflects any sun and fries the plants from underneath. I think the hydrangea is OK just b/c it's so big (5 ft tall, 5 ft wide!). oakley - I'd say if the Kordana (pretty hardy line, I don't know what yours are) survived a CT winter with major ice storms, all just covered with bark mulch and leaves, you could do the same. In fact, plant them now with good compost and some bone meal, to let them get their roots established b4 it gets cold. I've grown cherry tomatoes in pots outside, but generally don't like anything potted b/c they dry out too quickly and get pot bound. It will look dead in the spring, but as soon as it gets warm (ask on rose forum) cut the canes back to encourage new growth. I've never grown roses til last year, i think I cut the Kordana back around the beginning of May this year (can't plant anything til end of May b/c of frost), it had a few leaves at the base already and I was surprised. The Cherish looked totally dead, but I cut it back at the same time, didn't think I'd even see flowers this year but it came back strong and I actually had 2 flushes. Wish I had pics of when I first planted the Parades and how tall they are now, but I don't. I may be able to dig up an old photo of the Kordana from earlier this year.

Looks good and healthy to me. I have 4 of them. All outside. Red (Kiss) is 4 yrs old in a 10 gal decor pot. Bright yellow (Goldie) is 3 yrs old in a 10 gal decor pot. White and orange/white strip were just bought this past year. Both moved into 1 gal nursery pots until they grow a good root ball. Will probably go into decor pots next year. The Kordana mini roses are good healthy miniature roses. PLUS, Kiss Kordana (red) makes a good exibition rose for Rose Shows. I used one last week at the South Metro Rose Society's Rose Show (south Atlanta) and it got a Blue ribbon and made it to the final 8 but didn't get to the final 4. But the judges were very impressed with it. I told them they can usually pick it up at the crocery stores around Valitines Day.

I'm so jealous! I don't get enough sun light in my house to have a potted miniature rose bush. I had gotten them over the years as gifts but they never did well and ultimately died off. I wish I knew a trick to keeping them. I would get them for my birthday in september and they never made it to spring. Actually don't think they made it more than a month. I suspect it was a combination of not enough sun, either over watering or under watering. I'm looking into getting one to plant out in my garden. I remember my mother had one for many years in her garden and her house wasn't all that far from mine. So it is doable in my area. Just not in my house lol

The pot of mini-rose has grown a lot and blooming again. The flowers are summer flowers. I will post pictures shortly.

It still looks great. Just getting bigger :) I think it might be time to move it into a larger pot so the roots can spread a little.
