Flower drop probable causes:

1. Day temp too high >95F
2. Night temp too low 3. Too much nitrogen fertilizer
4. Too much water
5. Low light levels (reduces fertility).
6. Very low humidity (reduces fertility)
7. Poor air circulation (air circulation contributes to pollination).
8. Lack of pollinating insects.
9. Size of pot

10. Too much mineral in feedwater.
11. Too much grower attention/anxiety.

Since you are growing indoors, you can rule out extreme temps which is a common problem for outdoor plants. Most likely causes for indoor plants would be Numbers 5, 6, and 8. I would start there. But nutrients and water are definitely concerns too. If possible, I would get them outside during the day. It is generally very tought to grow peppers from seed to ripe pod entirely indoors. Most growers get their plants outside by the time they start blooming or at least in a green house.

thank you very much for feedback.esox07 could be right with low light,too many plants,cant even see the floor over the large canopy off tops.too many plantsfor one light.how do you test humidity? shouldnt be too much nitrogen feeding mg 15 30 15 ultra bloom. brought them outside today in shade,very warm day for alberta canada 28 degrees celcius,almost october.source of calcium blood and bone meal just started today,could have been my problem.changed bulb today high pressure sodium 360w.hopefully this does the trick

OK, Since you are from Canada, your outdoor growing season is about over. You will pretty much have to make the most of an indoor system. I would feel that light is going to be a big issue. You have many plants but only one grow light. A big 400W light is great but it's coverage is limited. Once your plants begin to grow, you will be cramping them together to get them under the light. I think you will have to add more lights. This is one reason I like flourescent tube lights. They may not put out quite as much light but they cover a much larger area. Put 400W worth of those up in 4 or 5, 4-foot shop lights with two 40W bulbs each and you have a small room full of light. Anyway, winter is notorious for very low humidity indoors. That will be an issue as well. You can buy an inexpensive humidity gauge that also has the temp to keep track of the humidity. They are sold at most department stores for $10 to $20. How you raise the humidity indoors is another issue. You could run a "humidifier" and if you have your plants isolated in a closed room, that could help a lot. It seems a lot of trouble to grow plants indoors. I grew my peppers from seed last winter indoors and I was so happy when I finally could get them outside in the Spring. Nearly all the problems I was having with them cleared up within the first week that I put them outside.
Josh (Greenman28) and some of the other vets out there can be more of assistance on the fertilizers and probably have a better grasp on the whole process.

hi esox07 do you think the hps bulb could be a better option? oh and by the way we dont live in igloos anymore,we stopped doing that about 4 years ago.....ha

Hmmm, I dont really know for sure on the HPS bulbs. I used fluorescent mainly due to their cost. I am sure some of the other might be better but running three of those 400W bulbs at 1200W for 12+ hours will get kind of expensive not to mention the initial investment. But that is up to you and while some of the other types of light sources might be better, I have no real experience there. I have seen some elaborate set ups posted to this list so I am sure others can give you some advice on this from personal experience.
I know you guys don't live in igloos any more, but when did you get electric power lines run way up there? :) Actually, I am guess your climate in S. Alberta is similar to us here in Wisconsin.

Did I read that right?

If you just started adding bone meal today, then there is virtually no calcium.

Bone meal can take up to 6 months to become available. It is a poor choice for containers,
unless you are using containers so large that they might as well be mini raised beds. But
even in large containers, the bone meal must be processed a good long time before it feeds
the plant.

rookie mistake i guess.i thought mg had all the essential nutriants.i do have peppers on my red scotch,ripe and big.why wouldnt the other ones have peppers? have a dozon plants outside all have ripe or almost ripe peppers. this will be my 5th year growing always had big plants with lots of peppers. this is first time indoors. i think i need bugs.

well certain plants need differnt amounts of micro nutrients to fully thrive. i would go get some cal/mag and add it each time you water to give the plants the calcium/magnesium they need! you can also use it as a foliar spray as well. i had peppers on a few plants of mine but others did not set fruit till i added cal/mag to my watering regiment even though the ferts i am using do contain micro nutes the extra cal/mag helped.
