Andrew, you must be the one whose comments prompted me to try egg rooting for my Makaha Sunn cutting. Unfortunately, it's still not rooted after five weeks, but I understand that this is a tough one to root. The weather has turned cool here now so I've no expectations for it until next April. I'm learning to store away vast reserves of patience.

Sounds like you've already got several of the best varieties--great job rooting an Intense Rainbow! Divine I hear lives up to it's name. It's also on my list. For red and compact I'll be getting Key West Red in the spring. I hear it's got a good fragrance, which is unusual for reds.

Penang Peach is my favorite. How about a Daisy Wilcox? I think the Daisy Wilcox is a parent of most modern hybrids.

kms2- Daisy Wilcox is a parent in a cross with Scott Pratt to create the 282 seedlings by Bill Moragne that make up the several dozen top cultivars named for the Moragne women or by seedling number. This represents only a small number of the modern hybrids but they are some really outstanding ones. Jeannie Moragne, Kimi Moragne, #23, #93, and Bill Moragne are my favorites.

'Penang Peach' for compact size, flower substance, color and bloomability. If I HAD to have just one, it would be this.

'Kimo', for color, flower shape, smell, ease of bloom. If I had to have just TWO this would be included.

'Daisy Wilcox' for smell, good substance and large flower size.

'Hilo Beauty' for unusual deep velvet, smoldering red color and good flower substance.

'Plastic Pink' for hot pink flower color and shape.

'Aztec Gold' has a great smell, but grows too large and gangly for my space.

I have some 'generics' that I love too, and I have others that have not yet bloomed, so this is a list in progress.

My 'Jeannie Moragne' has not bloomed well for me, if it is in fact truly Jeannie Moragne.

Yep that is me! I LOVE the egg method. I would have forever given up on rooting plumerias if I had not be sucessfull with this method, though on the Aloha forum, I have seen some pretty cool methods with just water.

I keep hearing awesome things about the Penang Peach so maybe this spring I will have to get my hands on one. I all ready have Aztec Gold though I don't like to here that it is a gangly grower.

I appreciate you both taking the time to give me your lists. Today I found the 'Divine' on Ebay from Jungle Jacks for $17.95! I also think I will be recieving a 3 tip rooted cutting. I am VERY excited but kind of bumped considering that I wont be able to add more after this. The temps are just getting way too unpredictable for me and I don't want to risk losing any new purchases while being shipped. I do know that some will ship with heat packs but I have so many tropical and tropical fruit trees I really need to stop for now.
