Check for Name First Before Starting a New Thread

Hi all,

Lot of newer people are posting about their trades which is wonderful, but please do a search of the person you want to write about before starting a new thread.

It is much better to keep all reviews about people to a single thread instead of multiples.

There are a few threads about this on the Conversations side, butI know many people don't look over there(or even realize there is a conversations side.)

Please don't respond to this post so it stays near the top for awhile.

Thanks for all the bumping you all have been doing! : )

Another thing some people need to do is make sure they spell the trader's name correctly including spaces when posting a review or searching for reviews. Unless someone's name is really short, I copy and paste the name because I do make too many spelling errors myself.

Hi Terrance nice to meet ya and thanks for the reply! Yes I must get outside in scratch that dirt. Where I live now, in Aberdeen, we gravelled the whole backyard due to having multiple horses in the house. LOL..my great danes make a terrible miss on grass so it was the only way. And mud? As in garden? Would be destroyed unless I built a fence around it. We are planning to buy a house soon, so hope to change all that. I can not wait to get into roses outdoors and perenials, grow my own veggies. Lily's too! I hope he builds me a greenhouse, as I am a die hard fan of tropicals. Plumeria and hibiscus are my fave's. Been growing them indoors for a year under lights, and lots of blooms. I also enjoy propagating and starting from seed indoors. Fun stuff! I guess when you grow up as a small town girl, you stick to your roots..hahahaha..too funny! Krista - sorry I left Sharon's name in the original post, so she knew I ressurrected it.

Assistance is wanted and needed to keep this bumped up toward the top of page one here. I was rolling with the comment from you, EG, about the women's club that you and Sinfonian will be honorary members of! hahahaha I think it'd be hard for me to go with that one, too, if I were male. Although, I think it's wonderful how our women are so macho and all. hahahahaha It's good to know that the bunnies like yours can be social ones and how long that they usually live, too. I am getting more and more interested in getting one. I think, if at all possible, I'll get a baby one that we can expose to lots of cuddling and love right away. I agree with Medo, that bunny poo is gonna be great for the garden! I'll have two kinds of poo if I play my cards right. I'm hoping for bunny and worm poo. I think that'll be enough for my garden. I was all upset earlier thinking my Kentucky Wonder green beans were dying or something. They've had leaves that curled up black on the ends just since I moved them here, but today they perked right back up and are looking great. I guess they just had shock from being moved back here from my mom's house. My lettuce got a bunch of rain, and they're still babies, of course. They're all stumped over and matted into the soil now. Poor things just look terrible. The rain has stopped so hopefully they will spring right back up. They just look so weak and sad right now. I hope they will be okay. It sure is amazing how much I have to learn with gardening being that I've never had the opportunity to take part in it much at all. It's like I know nothing. I have no idea what any plant will look like or anything. It's just blowing me away to see how beautiful each plant is, etc. My squash are by far the biggest and healthiest looking plants out of everything so far. Maybe the "accident" cantaloupes could make a close second, though. I wish I knew what these squash tasted like that I planted. LOL It was so late in the season when I got seeds, that all I could get at first were green hubbard, buttercup (not butternut), and acorn squash. Just recently I found zucchini, so I went ahead and tried planting a couple of those but they aren't up yet. ~Angela

I just thought I'd post this here...seems it will get a lot of attention, and maybe some good answers.

Some time ago, it was discovered a thread had been started on an incorrect member name. It is a slight variation of the correct name. It was verified that the name was wrong by comparing the member's state of residence. It was mentioned in the review thread (way down in it) so I'm sure almost no one will ever see it. I'd suggest getting the post pulled, but then all would be lost. Additionally folks tend to get really upset when a review is pulled for whatever reason they might not know about. (See the Conversation side for my post Why "some" posts get deleted It would be the 'fifth' reason in my post. I almost think that would be better though than the wrong member name being connected to a thread with a negative Subject of posting line (which is why I like to just see the member name and nothing else).

My guess is that the member named in error has no idea of the negative review thread with her name in it.

What to do...what to do... What would you do? I hate to post anything to the thread. I never traded with the member. i just feel sorry for the misnamed member.

I don't think folks realize just how important it is to be sure and use the exact member name (only) in the subject line.

Stick a fork in me. I'm done (for now anyway).

Yes...threads 'started' after 10-17-07 won't be found on a search. Hopefully they will get it fixed and soon. In the meantime it is finding those reviews that were 'started' b4 10-17.

There is also a thread about it at The Suggestions Forum.

WOW, you all have been doing so much bumping, your hips must be sore !!!!!!!!!! LOL

I would like to add that it would be nice of everyone would take the time to use this forum..I know I slacked off a bit, but I have done over 100 trades and have only three comments, which can make some people think you arent a good trader...

Remy, such a great point, but I just started coming over here back at the cookbook swap, everyone should do a search first, but I still forget sometimes myself (to come here and look) I guess because I don't trade seeds that often and I feel like everyone else knows me, lol. So not true, big world out there!

Have a list of traders to add reviews for -- impossible for me to go thru all pages searching till find them all with my sight . . pls do not think I've forgotten any of you marvelous traders, I e-mail every trader to thank them, believe it's important they know how much I appreciate their seeds, their time and trade. I've written something similar to this on Conversation side but know many don't read it. Thought I'd get lots R&R's written during cold wintry days but without a working Search Engine . . .

Took me over an hour last night to do a bunch of reviews just because of the difficulty searching for previous reviews. Will they ever completely fix the search function? Hope I found 'em all.

Woohoo! It appears the search is now working. It even found and took me to some that were posted 1-28...and it is supposed to maybe take 24 hours for a new thread to be found on a search.

Is it now working for anyone/everyone else?

It seems to have found those 'lost' posts that had been started after Oct 17th.

Maybe someone should go and post to that, that it is NOW FIXED...and then a little later start a new Please do a name search before starting e new review thread...or something like that.

Whatcha all think?

I think it would be a good idea to post a "search for member before starting a new thread",thread.I have noticed some people are still posting new threads even though that members feedback thread is on page one.I am sure they just don't know,I didn't when I first started,...lol...,I think I was the reason for this thread!:)
Anyway,I vote for Remy to start the new thread,she is awesome with words!

Yes...but...the search is now out again. GW updated us though about their ongoing efforts to get it fixed.

Thanks Angie! Don't worry you weren't the only reason I started the thread. You were just the icing on the cake ,LOL. And remember the icing is the sweetest part : )
