Cayenne peppers rotting as they ripen

chisey

I don't have a pic to share, but I have a cayenne plant that is perpetually covered in beautiful peppers, but every single one that starts to ripen starts browning and shriveling immediately. I check the plants every day or two, and inevitably I will have to just cut off 4-5 peppers and throw them in the compost bin. Is there something wrong with the plant, or is there anything I can do? It has been doing this for weeks.

I also have a habanero, two jalapenos, hot banana, sweet banana, two kinds of bell pepper, and a gypsy pepper in the same garden, and have had no problems with any of them. Just the cayenne.
