Oh NO,, what should I do,, HELP!

I have little tiny black ants on my Plumeria. They are on the branches the leaves ,in the blooms, I scratched the soil but since they are so tiny I didn't see movement, But they Must be in the soil as well, I only have about 6 weeks before I need to bring them in. Should I repot all of them NOW??
they are also in my potted datura's and Desert roses But are worse in the Plumeria's Waaaaaaaaaaaa Please help asap I work so I only have this weekend to take care of this.

Not a big deal really. the worst ants can do to plant is dig out the soil and cause air pockets. The do farm aphids for their honeydew so look for aphids and treat them. Every new blooming plumeria I have gets visited by the ants. commercial ant baits will help get rid of them if you wish.

They are probably thrips. A good spray of insecticidal soap or a pesticide for thrips and it should knock them back. Not anything to panic about though. If they are truly ants then granules outside of the container are best, they'll carry it to the rest.

I posted this a couple months ago and I know it works as I've used this technique myself. Here's something shown to me by an Auto detail guy, He's been in the Business for 20 years that I know of so I was interested in his advice on clean windshields. Get some Steel wool, # 0000, or super fine, and pick up some Automotive Cleaner-wax. Take a piece of the Steel wool and put a generous amount of the cleaner on it AND the Windshield, now VERY GENTLY use a swirl or circular motion and "polish" your windows, after you do an area you just buff it out like you would a cars painted surface. Take your time and do small sections at a time, I generally do mine in 1/4's. After you have buffed your windshield clean, use some Rain-X and give it a coating. You'll be amazed at how clean it comes out, and the Rain-X not only helps with water but also bird droppings, tree sap, etc. I know this sounds like an invitation for tons of scratches and I was skeptical until I watched this guy do it on a customers car. I've been doing this with my windshield for at least 10 years now, and not a single scratch. Hope this helps.

"I'm really curious as to how you did it, and why you did it differently for the kitchen." A couple reasons: Mainly for durability. The kitchen counter edges would get a lot of scrubbing, water, knocks from pots & pans etc. I wanted it as tough has possible. Also I did not want to use a plastic molding in the kitchen for fear that heat from the oven or dishwasher may effect it's shape. I had played around with several options for the kitchen when I finally came up with that one. With just paint it looked bad, I needed texture to make it resemble the tile. I thought about drywall setting compound, but since I already had an open bag of thinset I used that. Besides thinset is rock solid after it hardens. I had plenty of time to do the kitchen trim, but I was in a hurry in the bathroom. I wanted to get the tiling all finished so I can grout this weekend. I liked the idea of using the plastic molding in the bathroom because it won't rot. Since these are on the top of a shower enclosure they probably won't be "scrubbed" but wiped down occasionally. The paint held up well while I was doing my final cleanup of the thinest on the tiles & molding. I actually planned on using the same technique with the thinset, but while we were in Lowes I ventured down the paint aisle and had a "ah ha" moment. I realized the stone texture paint would be quicker and easier.

relax, you're fine. appliances are measured very precisely. a 36" range requires an opening of exactly 36". no more. in fact, most appliances are a hair under their stated measurement. so a 36" range is really going to be like 35 15/16ths inches. or something like that. it'll slide right in.

Where do you live? Do you have snow? If you do, snow could slide off the roof right on to half of your tree. Heavy snow could break branches. But again, you have car port instead of a garage, you may be in a warm area. Those trees need to spread out. They don't grow like columnar trees. They should be planted at least 6-8 ft from a fence or a structure even on a dwarf rootstock. Dwarf is also a relative term. A dwarf tree can grow over 10 ft in some cases. No need to worry. Wait until both trees go dormant. In early spring before buds start to push, dig them up and replant them. Newly planted trees are easy to move and almost always survive when it is done at a dormant stage. Just do not do it when trees are actively growing. They are less likely to survive if you do it now.

You could always flush your container with the hose, let the water settle in the soil and let it continue to gently pass thru the container. This will disrupt the ant colony and make them flee...

Then just make sure you let it dry out well before you bring it in. I would also move the container from the area where you have it so the ants won't return home!!!

Just a thought..

I wouldn't use anything on my trees to get rid of ants. Like Emily mentioned, bait traps will work as well on the outside of the container...
