Propagation In house vs Greenhouse

Hello all!

I am interested in propogating [newbie at it] some of my tropicals and tender annuals for next spring. I've had luck with spring propogation of Spirea and Hydrangea, but I've never tried non-hardy before. I would like to try my hand at Mandevilla, geranium, begonia and impatients. Based upon how long rooting takes I was thinking that I should start with cuttings the end of August. I had considered a patio greenhouse, but that forum has advised me that these usually are not 4 seasons and my plants would not do well. I am not ready to invest the money and space into a greenhouse as I am still new to this [although it is my dream to have one]. Now I am considering a grow-lite stand in the house. Will this do? I am so tired of giving all my money to the nursery man every spring!

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
