I'm just a beginner, but here's the rundown: -1 Chamaedorea Elegans, doing REALLY well although I bought it from IKEA and it didnt look the best, but now its all happy and perky. It's on top of my radiator in the bathroom and I water it every other day, it pops out fronds like its nobody's business, it also doesn't mind the dry air when I'm not showering, what a plus! it gets whatever extra fert i have left over from doing my other plants. This houseplant deserves more recognition because I give it a 5 star rating. -1 Musa Basjoo banana.its in pretty good shape, its down to 1 LEAF now because one of them burnt for a reason i still don't know why?,its putting out another one with more on the way. It puts out 1 leaf per week. I fert it once a month. This one is another great plant of mine. -1 Aechmea Fasciata. This one has had a love-hate relationship with me, but now its produced 2 pups and is powering along nicely. The pink bloom is gone, but the fountain-look and whiteness of the foliage always mesmerizes me. It takes dry air now, didnt use to. Likes tons of sun also. This one goes to the garden with the banana in the summer, because I've tipped it over as far back as I can fathom, its very top heavy so beware! But anyways now here's the list of what I've killed: -2 Sabal Palmetto seedlings. These were never ment for my house, but unknowingly I got them in November and babied them for 5 months before they bid farewell. After that I stuck em outside and let Mother Nature take over. -1 WodXVeitchia seedling. I bought this for $20 on ebay in september and It only survived until December. I think it died due to pink rot on the crownshaft. -1 Guzmania Bromeliad. I bought this at Home Depot in a 16in pot for $15 in October and it died in March. The unusual thing is that one of the old stems where the old plants were(they produced pups before this) had fell off and was missing. The plant also stopped growing and died, so again I let Mother Nature take care of it, well I can always go back to Home Depot and buy another! Thanks Home Depot!

Hello! Greylady-gardener - The Walker's low is potted up for you - boy is it ever fragrant! Thanks for the trade - phlox puts on quite a show in my garden so I'm trying to get lots of different colours of it. Gardeng8 - I tried to dig up a chunk of the NY Ironweed tonight with no luck, it appears to have a taproot. I've potted up the stems that got hacked off in the process on the off chance that they'll root. Please choose something else from my list or keep one of the pink anemones for someone else. Sorry about this - it looked so lush and full that I figured it would split easily. Nyssaman - No luck with the NY Ironweed, per above. I'll keep my eyes peeled in hopes of finding some volunteers, but that end of the yard is mulched with bark chips so not many volunteers of any kind. What a glorious day weather wise! I got my east flowerbed raised up, and potted up the rest of my swap plants. Now I just need a few more days like this...

Okay Lucy, I'll bring you a pink and a purple hydrangea for a bluish green/yellow hosta. I have just begun to appreciate the blue leaf varieties. My property used to be a pig farm and my hydrangea colors are very often different than they are supposed to be. My 'Forever Pink' is a deep, clear rose when fresh and turns red-purple as it ages. And my purples are deep purple. I can't say the strong colors will last more than a year or two in another soil. Farmerpickle, I have several iris--'Beverly Sills', 'Harvest of Memories', 'Spiced Custard' 'Swingtown' an unnamed very deep purple, and a very tall white, unnamed also. Are you listing three separate iris or one that is lavender, burgundy and yellow? E-mail me to finalize this trade. Everybody---I need a few folding tables. Please e-mail me if you can bring one. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Barb! look at all of those flowers! Those violets are pretty but they are a real pest here! spread like wiregrass! You really make me miss tulips too! (I knew winter was good for something!) Is that a trillium at the top! I can't remember the last time I saw a trillium!I am sorry to hear that Al has pain, I have suffered from hip/joint pain for several years, the doctors have told me the best treatment is 'keep moving' grrrr, sometimes it is very tough to do. Regina I am happy that you are getting some rain! (I hate to complain about water from the sky but it is still raining off and on here! The plants are loving it, but it sure makes it unpleasant outside (muggy, mosquitos and soggy) That Brug is beautiful! I can't wait till mine bloom, I have 3 potted and one in the ground, I just love those leaves! Even if they didn't have flowers My elephant ears hit the ground running too, all this water really perked them up. I cannot believe the size of the leaf on one of them (Is it my imagination or are those leafs still growing?!?!)
