I have what is left of a beautiful Martha Washington geranium and I've been thinking of trying to root it in Rootone and potting mix. I do have perlite and vermitculite and spagnum peat moss. Wonder which will do best? Keep us posted on your progress.

My first update. Roots have appeared at the base of all four cuttings. The heat wave at this time of the year is terrible, and makes me miss the cold showers of winter. I guess my Geraniums share that sentiment with me. Though rooted, two have turned brown and died. Those are two "Vancouver centennial" stellars. I noticed bothrytis took a hold over the edges of the leaves and migrated inwards. Courageously, I cut the leaves of three and retained the leaf axil. Possibly the two stellars have started dying even before I did that. The remaining axil looks green and plump, the fourth leaf is holding-on and I didn't cut it. It is a "unique" unknown hybrid. Will follow-up weather forecasts for timing my next attempt. I know this is possible, and if the summer is too hot anyway, I will postpone my attempt to fall.

Great idea of using a step drill. I too have cracked plastic containers drilling thru them. Thanks. The late Bob Smoley told me to use stright perlite or grit to root a hard Euphorbia that I purchased from Bob a few times. Rotted every time until I used Bob's advise. The hardest thing for me was not to water it. Have to wait until it started rooting. After rooting, transplant into a very gritty mix. With Sans, you have to spray mist the leaves to keep from drying out. This thing is over twice the size now.

Sorry to say it's not. Hoyas grow from stem or tip cuttings, must have least least 1 node to produce roots & a new plant. If you've seen the ads for the Sweetheart Hoya growing from a single, heart shaped leaf, it's a scam; they grow roots, but don't develop into an actual plant, sorry.
