One huge problem with the biosolids industry/use is while there are levels that are monitored and enforced (much better now than in the past)...there's nothing keeping a farmer from using biosolids every year, or multiple times a year...and for many farmers the cheap nutrient additions far outweigh any other considerations as long as they're managing their runoff. Many plants don't care if there's excess metals in the soil...and the buildup isn't cared about by many farmers as long as they can get their crops to market without crop loss. When heavy rains leech these metals into water tables...or off the land (which is managed well)...or there's dry periods where the land gets airborne via wind...there's some environmental/health concerns going on. Responsible farmers (and home gardeners) are usually more caring about this...many farmers, especially commercial farmers, really don't care about this, though...it's a cheap source of high nutrients.

Short, self supporting indeterminate tomatoes are what I've seen growing in the commercial fields when I lived in California. I think the plants also help to support each other as they're planted close enough together to intertwine their leaves and sort of form a tomato hedge. As far as genetically modified, that's a possiblity, though I think most are simply hybrid varieties bred specifically for commercial production demands (and NOT flavor, obviously).

Yes, you rip the whole flower except the pistil before the flower opens, so it can't self pollinate. You wait a day or two for the pistil to be 'mature', add some other pollen. As for the initial question, I would guess they bag the whole cluster to be sure there's really no accidental cross pollination, but for sure many smaller sellers just leave it to nature and in normal gardens accidental pollination is about 1% so it's an acceptable risk vs work for them.

Btw, in my second comment pics above - just was showing the darker tan cushion color - a couple of examples. Was not necessarily suggesting lime green pillows, etc. Although you do have a range of colors you could incorporate/with various possibilities I would go with your core colors, the tan and black - and use mostly tan on cushions in seating areas, with some white/off white on cushions where it might be possible - as well as some throw cushions with white, black or both + terra Cotta accents, as I showed in my initial comment. Just to again show general idea and some black and white accenting. and lots of terra-cotta ideas above. And I think a shade of blue on umbrellas could be nice.
