The plastic is held down at the top 2 by 4. On the outside of the structure, I have the plastic sandwiched between the 2 by 4 and a 1 by 2 furring strip. The 1 by 2 is screwed to the 2 by 4 every 12 inches. Next year I am going to go every 6 inches. During the fiercest storms we had, the plastic did pull up and ripped. It wasn't bad. I just unscrewed the 1 by 2 and pulled it back tight. When I take the plastic off this winter, I am going to take it to my school or church and unfold it and tape any holes. That way it will be ready for next spring. I got the plastic, Klerk's K-50 from Stuppy's Greenhouse and Supply in Kansas City. We have to go to KC every 6 months for our daughters check up with the doctor there. I was excited to find them and they are only 1.5 miles away from the hospital we visit. With the plastic, shop around and pick it up if you can. The roll I get weighs 92 pounds. I am guessing it would cost alot to ship. Also, the price was cheaper if I picked it up and paid cash. I did get pictures taken this week of some of the features I am talking about. I will share them later. My wife downloaded them on another computer and shut it off. Thanks for the complements! Jay

Our Farmer's Market (Blue Hill, ME) serves a peninsula with a population of about 5,000, plus summer visitors. We have about 6 farmers and a mix of about a dozen bakers and craftspeople. Are you thinking of a weekly market (what we do) or a seasonally-full-time co-operatively run farm stand (we had one, but it folded due to personality issues)? Starting a new venture, I think it is best to focus on offering things people want _that they can't get anywhere else_. Maybe no store within 50 miles will buy/sell arugula, but if there are 10 people in town who will buy a bunch a week, then that is 20 bucks a week for somebody's market stand. I took my home off the market after two 6 month periods covering two springs and summers following the market down turn. We used two different agents from separate companies. No luck selling it even though we priced it at their suggested prices and dropped the price when they asked. We opted not to place it back on the market this spring. We only had 12 people come (averaging 1 person per month) We almost sold it a couple of times, but people ended up buying homes in other areas. (It turned out our HS was torn up and is just now getting finished). These were the only two people who actually ended up buying other homes in the area. The rest were looking but did not purchase while our home was on the market. The problem is the upper end market in our area has been very slow unless it was newly built and now that market is completely dead. We took our home off the market and invested some more money in the home last fall to update it. Everything we did will make it more saleable in the future, but we will enjoy it for now (I loved my new gas fireplace insert that we installed this past winter!). We will try again some day when my husband decides to retire. He decided to extend his retirement age because of the economy. If you have to sell your home in this market, then sell it ... but accept that you may have to "give it away" to move. If you are lucky you will find another home that is in your price range that you like. If you really don't have to move.. then stay put and try to wait out the slow market. Hopefully it will turn around in a few years.
