Does anyone need Plumeria cuttings or seeds?

Aloha!! I live in Hawaii and can purchase agriculturally inspected cuttings or seeds to ship with no problems. They are sold in the stores for this simple reason. They are very picky about plants coming into and going out of Hawaii. It's all about controlling the bugs.

Best thing to do is post in the tropical plant forums or the plumeria forums - also try y*hoo groups (plant swap) thats all these guys trade is cuttings and seeds of plumeria - you will be very hard pressed to find this plant or its seeds up here in the great white north - there are a couple people from Hawaii in (plant swap) that trade these this will ensure you get fresh seed - tropical seed usually is short lived so it is best to get it fresh. Remember plumeria get very large 30-40 feet so in 4-5 years you will need a greenhouse to overwinter them .Here is a site to check out http://www.plumeria101.com/

Erika, you need to take seriously the import requirements for phytosanitary ceritificates. I just read in the Canadian exchange forum of a gardener who was fined (I think it was $300 US) for mailing plant matter into the USA without certification. Plus, Erika, your own state of Texas works hard to protect its agriculture, natural lands, and waterways. Search the Ponds forum of GW and you will find a note from a man who was fined $1000 US for sending water hyacinth into your very city! (You are from San Antonio, right?)

Hi,
I live in the phoenix, AZ area and have been trying to discover if I can find a hardy, heat tolerant plumeria with scarlet colored blooms. Any suggestions?

I sent her an email, received a reply stating she was swamped with requests. She said she had to do some research re: colors and pricing and would get back to me the next day. It's been 3 more days and so far no more email. She is most likely overwhelmed with requests. Poor thing most likely didn't know we would jump on this offer.

Well heck, I was going to ask about pricing too, however, seems it might be awhile. Wonder if she regrets ever having put that post on here...Hehehehehe...

I have ordered 3 - 18" multi-tipped cuttings from her, with shipping, it's about $45.00. I'll let everyone know when they arrive and how they do once I get them potted.
The varieties are: Keike, Evergreen Singapore and Lei Rainbow.
Keeping my fingers crossed for some great plants !!

It think we all jumpped on her like a frog on a june bug. Little did she know standing in a school yard yelling candy she would be over run with kids wanting this plumeria candy. I have to say I was one of the kids. Cathy has step up and done a fine job. And she is a great lady and a friend. And I have to put in a word for her husband he's been out there helping her get the cuttings. They are some good people. My hat is off to them both for making the offer and and for coming through with such fine cuttings. THANKS CATHY
