What is wrong with my thai chili plant?

Im so angry, I bought a thai chili plant last month and did everything Im supposed to do with it. It just isn't growing. Its not dying nor is it getting yellow, in fact its has flowers on them. But its still the same size from when I purchased it a month ago, its about 5 inches.

Ive always done vegetable pots for my plants and they flourish to the point that I can't even keep up with the vegetables. This year I feel like my plants have just become stagnant. Everyone I know have been complaining about how their vegetable garden just hasn't been going anywhere.

Not enough information here. We need soil type, container size, temps, lighting, fertilizers, watering regime, etc....
Oh, and pictures are always a big time plus.

Provide that kind of information and you will get more suggestions and opinions than you know what to do with.

There are different kinds of Thai chili. Maybe what you've got is an ornamental variety which does not grow fast and big. Also, pepper need real warm weather to start growing. I have planted most of mine more than 6 weeks ago and they are hardly growing.

Do you see any buds on your plant ?

We absolutely love these little plants! They are such huge producers with each plant having over 100 chilies. Very easy to dry and pound into flakes. Besides that I still have a freezer full :) Here is a pic of these peppers still producing on October 16th...they were still going strong long after a September frost killed all the other peppers! @Leaf i dont work for bakers so i couldnt tell you. I hope not. I support and buy from bakers very often. check this out http://www.garden-of-eatin.com/how-to-avoid-monsanto/ this shows a list of seed suppliers that are know to work with monsanto or one of its subsidiaries , Tomato Growers Supply is one that they suggest you avoid. @DMforcier I am open for the argument that some GM'ed food is needed. The percentages of corn and soy beans that are GE'ed prove this point. Farmers like plants that dont die. However, it should be tested, safe, and properly labeled as such. Me personally, i have no trouble growing corn, i dont need virus and herbicide resistant corn. Those that do need it, are , generally speaking, strictly commercial. Im anti Monsanto due to there actions against other farmers. legal action against seed savers is wrong. Patent protection against plants, bleh. I dont want monsanto knocking on my door because I saved some seed. I also dont want to eat GM food with all the doubts of it being safe. I dont think that without monsanto we would all perish though. thats a bit of a stretch

It's never a bad idea to answer questions 2 years late lol.... Because others will read the post and learn and it'll answer other peoples questions like mine. This is like a library, future chili growers will read this to learn how to grow hot peppers. This is my first winter with a chili pepper plant indoors. I had my plant planted in ground outdoors and it still had a bunch of peppers and some flowers on them, so I brought them inside and they peppers seem to be ripening. Some peppers have turned from green to red indoors . I'm using an 11W LED grow light. I also put a germinated Scotch bonnet seed and just transferred from paper towel to pot. Once it grows its first true leaves, I'll put the pot with my outdoor chili pepper and lemon trees which are all under the LED light and a medium window.

In that case I would go to Silverbell Nursery. Go North on the frontage road to Grant due to the construction. Turn left on Grant Road and go west about a mile to Silverbell Road and turn right and go about 2/3 of a mile or just past the small trailer park. It is on both sides of the road but the office is on the right side. If they do not have what you want they are willing to order it for you.

Ok here are some pictures, they have buds and two have bloomed already.
I water every other day depending on the heat and I also check soil. It's in a miracle grow soil, not sure what size the pot is but it's big enough for it to thrive. All my plants are looking so sad looking this year. I had to put those rocks in there because of my neighbors cat, they kept trying to make a litter box out of them no matter how high the pot was.

OK, just a start, but still more info is needed. Climate (where are you located). Sunlight, temps, etc.....
But, unless it is very hot and dry where you are, watering every other day is likely a problem with MG potting soil. It retains water quite well. Peppers don't like to be too wet, too long. That would be my guess with what you have stated so far.

The rock mulch is making the soil hold even more moisture. Chances are that the plant is still the same size because root development has been non-existent. Let the dirt dry out until the plant starts to look wilty (could take a while) then give it a little water. Bet it starts to get tall soon thereafter.

I live in New York City, zone seven. The weather over here has been off. Usually by this time it's nice and hot and plants are blooming. Today it's raining. My plants are getting about six hours of sunlight. They usually thrive in that area where I have always placed them throughout the years. The other side of the garden is is facing south. But I have so much weed going on over there I'm scared to put the pots on that side. I'm waiting for it to get cleaned within the next couple of days and then I will be moving the pots to that side. I've also been badly aphids on my other, pepper plants, but this pepper plant does not have any aphids. I check for aphids every day . I will not give any water to these plants for the next couple days and just see what's going on.

Cool weather will slow growth down considerably. Six hours of sun should be fine, though.
