yellow caterpillars on peony, bergenia etc

I have holes turning up in foliage much of my garden. Started with bergenia and hollyhock but spread to anemone and peony. I believe it may be due to this yellow caterpillar which I pick off when I can find it. I just started also using BTK which is some sort of bacteria that kills some caterpillrs but not sure if it is working or not. It is mid-October and I understood for most perennials I should leave the pruning until spring so that they could catch snow. but if I have caterpillar eggs all over everything, should I be concerned about waiting until spring? Also I understand I should cut back the peony in the fall once the foliage dies back a bit? But if I've got caterpillars should I cut back before foliage dies back? Also understand I'm not to cut the bergenia foliage at all?
