Your pepper plants look good & healthy. A few of those babies will need to be moved into bigger containers later. Most of mine are in the ground. We've had weekly frost threats (last night was hopefully our last), so my plants have not grown at all. One of these years I'd like to have a "normal" spring.

Lookin nice so far. =) Like booberry says, some look to need a potting up soon. Other than that, keep up the good work.

yea my only problem is i ran out of pots...and well...money
i dont know if you can tell but all the white pots are actually garbage cans i got from the dollar store for a buck each
but anyway....i have like 3 slightly bigger pots left...
and as far as the garden the soils pretty much strait clay and no spots in my yard really get more than about 5 hours of sun at a time (i move all the plants across the yard twice a day for the most light) so i dunno...some of them might just have to stay in smaller pots

juicyj: I hear ya! lol...I usually have plants overdue for potting up until June because of money restrictions...lol. I try my local nursery's. Some will sell me those 3-5 gallon black buckets for very cheap (like 25 cents a piece) or just give me a few. I check yard sale's, goodwill, etc. for things that can be used as containers. I'm also doing an experiment with that cheap crappy Hyponex soil to see if it works well so I can save on soil (for peppers, at least) too. =)

Hyponex soil is extremely cheap, low quality soil with sand (*shiver*) in it. It clumps together really easily (very poor drainage) and looks like the desert when its dry...lol...really really cheap crap I would not recommend to anyone ($1 for 16 quart bag, I believe). I am running an experiment trying to see how a Jalapeño Early Organic plant does in it. After almost 3 weeks, it's not dead! lol...In fact, it's still growing quite well, but the real test will be to see what kind of production I get out of it. alright yea...that doesnt sound very good...man i wish i had some guidance...i really have no clue what im doing right...i mean i read the forums...but still you know what i mean

like i potted most of my stuff with part miracle grow part black gold and mixed in a good amount of vermiculate for drainage until i ran out...and i know ive been needing to fertilize...but i really dont know how...it seems everyone has their own opinion on what/how/when to use...i got this "lilly miller tomatoe and vegitable food, 5-10-10"
i dont know if its the right stuff though...so im kind of hesitant to use it...not to mention im not even 100 percent sure how to use it...as stupid as that sounds

Our town has a citywide cleanup in the spring. Good way to find old pots,containers,etc for growing. Take them home, give them a scrubbing with dish soap and 10% bleach solution, rinse and let dry. They make great planters and the price is right. I like the use of garbage cans, we also use kitty litter pails,5 gallon buckets, most anything that can have holes drilled in the bottom for drainage and will hold planting mix. Creative containers is the way to go.

I too am new to all this and struggling to learn what needs to be learned for this to work.

My biggest challenge is that some of my plants don't look good (I'd say 6-8 of my 28 are in some level of disrepair or desperation), and I *know* they don't look good, but I don't have the ability yet to look at a plant and based on its condition say "Ah, yes, bugs." or "Needs fertilizer" or "too much water" or "too little water". Man, it'd be so great if there was one site with pics of each problematic condition a pepper could have. I had aphid infestation, and I got rid of those, but then it rained every day for a month, and the damage looks similar...LOL

Anyway, like you I was getting lost and overwhelmed by the whole fertilizer thing. Then a guy who works at a very successful and major nursery here (DeBaggios) said, just use TomatoTone, period. at transplant time and then once every three weeks, another tablespoon full in a circle around each plant. Seems pretty easy. I guess we'll find out if it works.

well i have a similar sounding fert...its a tomato and vegitable fert...i tested it on my chocolate bhut jolokia and one of my devils tongues that were kind of puny...see what happens....we just got a little rainfall though and everything seems to be popping with all sorts of new growth so things are looking up i suppose!
