Recieved my first small Spray and Grow kit today.

I recieved my kit today and read the directions on all the bottles. I want to make sure that I get this right.

I also emailed Bill, so hopefully he can help me with this.

If I got this right, Bill recommends mixing ST and Sea Weed extract with rain water and feeding at each watering.

Now, this is where I get confused. On the Spray and Grow bottle.

IT says "Coco Wet should be added to mix last but if mixing with Spray and Grow and Bill's Perfect Fert. add to water first."

Also it says to only use for 4-6 hours after mixing.

Right now, the bulk of my plumeria are cuttings that I am rooting right now so there not needing this fertilizer treatment. I know I could use it on other plants but does anyone have any suggestions on how to mix if only using for rooted cuttings going into the 2nd year?

I guess what I am trying to say is that my plumeria are still small and I really don't want to waste it. I know it will take a few times to figure out how much to mix up so I am not wasting it.

Thanks for the help and for also recommending this product. I am reqally excited to get this routine going!

This is the drawback with S-n-G: confusing directions. I write "1st", "2nd", "2 teaspoons", etc on the tops of each bottle for quick reference.

What works for me is a quart spray bottle filled with warm water, 1/4 teaspoon Coco Wet first, then 2 teaspoons S-n-G, shake and wait 15 minutes, then 1/2 teaspoon Bill's. Spray on everything within reach, including herbs and veggies. Early morning is best.

Thanks Jandey. Your right about the confusing directions! Were you the one who sent me the plumeria seeds?

I have Mardi Gras that are a few inches tall. I didn't give them the best care but there coming along now.

I also recieved Kimo seeds from another member and there doing the best...I would say about a year from blooming!

I am! Better looking than any roses I've ever received from heirloom, no diss intended, the root system and all looked great! High country's roses look symilar( SP?) in comparison. I only have a small green house, and the ones that would fit in it I put in their lol. I plan on buying a bigger one because I don't think I will be able to plant them until next spring , and just pot them up into bigger pots when they need it. Right now they are in one gal. and enjoying the rain since we got some today! then I will put the smaller ones back in the greenhouse until wed, and get a bigger greenhouse for them all! My husband thinks I'm crazy for my love of roses, but I don't care! he has his passions and I have mine!

Joe-my experience with cannas is that they should come up in a few weeks and by next year be prepared to thin out and share with friends for the rest of your life! Cannas love it here in Zone 8 and thrive and spread. I don't feed mine (except an occasional all garden Miracle Gro spray) or dig them up at the end of the season. Just lots of water. Right now in my small military yard I probably have 200 coming up--who needs a privacy fence-lol! Enjoy them-they are beautiful plants and survive past the growing season.

Yummy! There is nothing better than eating a ripe peach, still warm from the sun, standing there in the yard with juice dripping down your chin. I can't say I blame you for not being able to wait a couple more days to eat the first one. I am the same way every year with the peaches and plums Our first plum tree and our peach tree already are bare of fruit, but we're still getting plums off the second tree. This is the earliest we've had fruit ripen/finish up. Usually we are just starting to get plums now, about a week before Father's Day, so we're always picking them right around Father's Day, and the peaches start a week or two after the first tree, and the second plum tree and the wild plum trees are a week or so after the peach tree. Everything is early this year. Our peach tree is on its last legs and we're going to cut it down now that the fruit is done. We planted two replacement trees for it this year. I let the squirrels have most of the peaches because they were so small. Tim thinned the peaches, but since the fruit ripened a month early, he apparently didn't thin them early enough to get a decent size on the remaining fruit. We did have to fight the coyotes, deer, squirrels and rabbits (they devour fruit the wind blows off the trees) for every plum, but the birds didn't bother the fruit at all this year. Maybe that's because they're busy with caterpillars and grasshoppers. You can tell it is stone fruit season here because Wal-Mart is pretty much out of pectin, jars and labels unless you happen to walk in the door just after they've unloaded a truck and restocked the shelves. I know the weather/gardening ups and downs must drive Wal-Mart management crazy. Last year all the stores had huge amounts of pectin, jars, etc. that didn't sell because of the drought. This year the demand is huge, and at least so far, they do not have a steady supply to meet the demand. So, fruit season's been in full swing here for maybe 3 or 4 weeks now, and cucumber season has hit because the pickling spices are disappearing off the store shelves. It is interesting to watch how it ebbs and flows over the years. Just by watching the supplies on the canning aisle, you can tell when folks are having a good year....or a bad one.

Oh really? That's good to know. Another thing I thought was kind of the norm. I'd like to get something setup with ideally an LED light to get plants off to a good start in winter. After that there's not much I can do though -- just have a small area with limited sun exposure to grow in. I mean, I guess there are some things people do like mulch with reflective plastic to make the most of the sunlight? Do you think the same about pinching off other kinds of plants? Like I'm also growing some fuchsias and the conventional wisdom seems to be to pinch them off.

Andrew- to clarify- I mix Superthrive and seaweed for each watering, not SNG. SNG is used as a foliar feed which means you need to spray on the leaves, so until you have leaves, don't bother. SNG is easy. Pro rate it by the gallon of warm water. Put in half a TEASPOON of Cocowet (wetting agent which makes the liquid penetrate the leaves.) and two TABLESPOONS of SNG in the approx. 100 degree water. Wait 15 minutes and look for it to change to a yellow. Then add one TABLESPOON of Bill's perfect fertilizer. Shake, pump and spray on the leaves in the morning. Wet the top and bottom of leaves. Remember a half teaspoon is one sixth of a tablespoon so you use very little cocowet. I recommend at least a gallon pump sprayer from Home Depot and just spray other plants with excess. All plants like this stuff.

Yes, that was me, Andrew. I sent you Mardi Gras and Chompoo Wang seeds. Both of those have been lagging behind until the heat really started here. Now the CW are taking off faster than MG, which is my smallest grower.

I also use SNG. I have been using a spray bottle to mist cuttings that I'm rooting. One day, I had a little of the SNG/Bill's/CocoWet mixture left over, so I put it into the spray bottle and misted the tips of the cuttings that had claws with it. Now, that's what I use to mist cuttings. Don't know if it helped, but I haven't lost a cutting since. Some cuttings that seemed slow to root have done well. FWIW

I've been alternating, one week I spray and the next week I drench with just Bill's Perfect mixed at 1 tbsp/gallon. This is the extent of my fertilizer routine.

I have been using this on all my plants this year and everything seems to love it. I have a rare jasmine that is going nuts, and my hibiscus is excelling as well. And of course all my Plumeria look great (Pudica, Obtusa and Rubra.)
