soil test results in......

I just got the soil test results back from the county extension office.........I talked with the guy on the phone and the detailed results will arrive in the mail shortly. Overall, he said that the nutrient level was good but also mentioned that my soil ph was 7.7 and it was classified as "clay". It's actually not clay, but is quite dark in color and is in a lowLying area. I suspect this causes much soil compacting to occur and causes a more clayLike consistency.

Regarding the above ph level and other info mentioned, what would you guys suggest in regard to getting my soil to a more optimal level?

Still waiting for things to dry out enough to plant.......probably this weekend.

Thanks for all responses....
