Hey Karen,

Any time you get a cutting from tropical/humid places you will find Lichen on them. Most of my cuttings/plants from Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Hawaii all have Lichens on them. Basically the Lichen is harmless, like a type of Moss. The Lichen will not transfer or spread.
I have found that over time the Lichen will disappear especially if you live in a drier climate.

Again do not worry about the Lichen it will effect your cutting or its ability to root or grow.

Hi Freak,
Thanks so much for getting back to me, feel ok now. As you could probably tell I was lost there. I had never seen a plumeria stalk look like that. I got response back from Jennifer that is was ok, but did not want to write her back until I knew for sure it was ok..

I paid a little more for this cutting than most. did I choose well? Was said on the board that the Morange's were good, also have a 2 yr old jeanne Morange jr, needs to grow. I am still buying plants through pictures and comments on here. Some day do hope they will bloom and I will know what colors or shades I have. Have a possibility of 5 or 6 to bloom..Yay. thanks.

I wouldn't worry about anything from Jennifer. She is as honest a seller as there is. If you have any problems with the cutting, let her know. As above, lichens won't affect the cutting's ability to root and grow.

Beware, your plant may sense your anxiety. Just kiddin' Karen. as said above Jennifer is one of the best sellers who will stand behind her products. Also when you get advice from Freak and Mike you cannot do better. Also when Bill Moragne crossed his Daisy with Scott he had 282 seedlings from which he picked the best few dozen to name so you know they were the hot ones. Until recent new crosses, the Moragnes set the standard for best flowers. For the most part they are larger flowers and have excellent shapes and colors. Katie is a keeper. I also like Kimi, Jean, Jeannie, Mary, Bill, #97, #27, and Cindy. I have others that have not bloomed yet. Any Moragne is golden if you get seeds because it carries so many color variations(red,pink,yellow, orange, white,) and shape variations(rolled edges, tulip shaped, large,). no wine last night.. ha but hubby and I went to a Annual Kentucky Derby party yesterday.. Definatly had a couple of "Mint Juleps" so good..got to be careful, lot of Kentucky whiskey in there and mint..you tend to drink it so tasty, slow down ha..I bet on the winner, made a whole $16.00. great fun, lots of good friends..good food. Kentucky stew is to die for.

Thanks on the one I picked, Katie Morange is a color variation I don't think I have. Will get it planted today. Appreciate the info on the lichen. Jennifer later came back with a link on that moss stuff. It threw me, afraid of ruining all my plants..thanks. Yes Bill do listen to Freak and Mike and others too, and do what they say

Hey if you are interested in Moranges Bill and 93 aka Reddish Morange are some of my favs. The only thing is that most of the Moranges I have grown tend to start out a little leggy.

I had my 93 bloom like crazy last season, plus the flowers were blooming over 5"..bigger than my Daisy Wilcox.
Here are some pics of the blooms. I took a bag full of blooms over to a friends house, she wanted to see how big my blooms were. While there her daughter Nicole fell in love with the 93 blooms, probably because of the size, color and smell. I am also attaching a pic of Nichole who is 4 yrs old with a 93 bloom behind her ear and to show how big the flower is compared to her head.

Wow!!! Any bigger on those blooms and they'd be as big as Nicole's head! Congrats on the great blooms!

Am I better off to buy cuttings from MG or check Florida Colors for a grafted plant? Are going to take awhile to grow to bloom like that one!! dern ha

J.Morange is different, more play of color in 93..white pink yellow, etc.
MPG did have 93 aka reddish moranges rooted, maybe you can check there or email Jennifer if not.
I actually bought my 93 morange at a great nursery called H&H in the city of Lakewood. I bought my 93 rooted in a 1 gallon pot with inflo and blooms back in 2002. It was a single tip about 20" tall.

If not try island plumeria in Northridge, a lot of his stock came from JL.

Very beautiful!! My 93 had about 19 inflos on it last summer very prolific now, but the first 3 seasons I had it it was another story...horrible bloomer and the flowers were not that great. Just like everyone says that the flowers will change from cycle to cycle for the first 2 or 3 blooming cycles.
Love your pics I got my J. Morange from Twilla and it is gorgeous.

Appreciate the pictures..soooo beautiful. I can only afford to buy one of the morange now ..budget! Being I have 2 Jeanne Morange Jr..bought one rooted J morange jr from MG last year, was dormant almost all year, woke up, went dormant. So hope it wakes up this year and grows. Plus bought a jeannie jr cutting this month with a huge dormant inflo! want to see this bloom!

Bought Katie Morange for the color change, so freak will order the Morange 93, from MG rooted to get the good start..thanks both of you, appreciate the help. I can only afford to buy so many the beginning of the year, feel have done ok. Love to get that other pink morange one, maybe later. bought rooted California Sally, hope is a good pink

Karen- Your Jeannie should be more like the red one. My orange one is a seedling and may be a one of a kind. I also highly recommend Calif. Sally as one of the most prolific large pinks. Once established, it will not disappoint.

Freak4- you have so many of the flowers I would love to see. Also, you gotta love Twilla- a gem of a lady. Thanks for your info on blooms- looking forward to your summer crop. I am cutting back and trying not to buy but I did get a Makaha Sunn and a Dazzler this year and I have a Mermaid Gem that is struggling to root, but that is all so far (ok 1 dwarf pink,too). Between Jim Little and the Thais there are so many I wish I could find room to have. You have many that I drool over, too. Hope your new digs have room for your collection. Bill

I just ordered #93 rooted Morange from MG..mercy that is expensive! ouch..Soo. now with Jeannie Jr, Katie and 93 have to stop for now. From ordering from MG this month have 4 mystery cuttings, and one from last year. so will wait and hopefully see what I have. thanks for the input on good ones to purchase.
