Need help identifying a Plumeria
Comments (1)ID's from photos are usually pretty hard and unless very obvious a best guess is all we can do. my guess is Penang Peach?? Hooked leaf tip in the background makes me think maybe. Are the colors normally that light. Penang is usually pretty vibrant. do you have a pic showing more of the tree mike....See MoreWhite fungus on my plumeria HELP!
Comments (1)It looks to me that the wood has rotted and the fungus is cleaning up the mess so to speak. If that branch is dead then I would remove it as close to the green line as possible. then you may have to temporarily cover the wound to prevent water from getting in there. Some use caulk, some use liquid electrical tape but both tend to trap any transpiration moisture. I've used tan caulk and haven't noticed any issues and I am just a bit further south than you....See MoreCan't identify what this is on my plumeria
Comments (5)Hi Laura and Garden Analyst, I've tried to take multiple photos but unfortunately, my cell phone camera has its limitations. So I've used a generic pesticide to treat the two plants that has this stuff on its leaves. The one thing that confuses me about these 'specks' is that they're not sticking to the stem or the leaves. I can use my finger and they come right off almost like they're particles from something else. If these are aphids, are the eggs and larvae/adults 'sticky'? Thank you so much for both your inputs. I am thankful for the help and hopefully, we can identify what's going on. Hope to hear from you soon. Best regards, -duc nguyen....See MorePlease help me identify this plumeria growth.
Comments (2)This looks like it's trying to become an inflorescence and may become a false inflo which will ( or can cause ) it to branch out just as if it did have a blooming inflo! It definitely is not a seedpod. Seedpods only are produced from flowers that are pollinated ( can be self pollinated or crossed with another blooming flower nearby. Natural pollinators can self pollinate your flowers by using their proboscis ( long tongue) or other small insects releasing the pollen from the Anthers and dropping to the stigma and it settling into the ovary causing pollination! You can have natural pollination from Butterflies, Sphinx Moths, some say Humminbirds and also Thrips can pollinate your Plumeria. Hand pollination can be accomplished as well to mimic natural pollinators! Hope this helps!! Laura This is what a seedpod looks like a few weeks after pollination occurs. I hand pollinated this one as well as some of my other trees. Here is another more mature seedpod...See Morepcput
