You could always pick up a few hab plants or something from a local nursery / garden center. Should help you limp through this year. :-)

I'm still here! In my second pepper season. Sorry to hear about your growing problems, maybe it would be a good idea to pick up a few nursery peppers to get by.

I started 144 seedlings and they were doing GREAT. Then I bought a powerful T5 high-output flourescent light bank to raise them under, and at 2" from the plant tops it caused really bad sunscald - 90 % purple and brown leaves on half or more of the plants. The plants are now recovering with the T5's at 11", but it was very iffy there for about 4-6 days whether I had just decimated my crop. So for the moment, I am planning to have nice pics to show here later on.

Hope you can find a nice pepper plant somewhere. I'm sure if you keep coming back to the forum and checking out the photos, you will have to grow some of your own one way or another. Anyway, here is a shot of what I have this year.

yeah, the ones in the back are the hotties. I have 3 bhuts, 3 red savinas, 2 yellow scorpions, and 2 7pods. The front ones are cayenne, jals, and pepperoncinnis. Started them about 2 mo apart.

I'm still around. I have a habanero de Arbol & a regular habanero that I wintered over from last year. I started a bunch of new peppers for this year. However, its been complicated by my pooch getting up on my seedling table and knocking things over. !@!**!@! I'm none too happy about it. The seedlings that do make it will be hardy!

I am about to start year two here on garden web. I was around a little bit last year. I had about 20 plants last year, and thanks to all the help here, they turned out great. Now I am up to over 50 varieties, and I have 3 of each variety....So 150 plants, a little more then last year. If you can't get any plants, let me know I have a few to spare.

I'm so sorry to report that I lost your starts at the border. Christ, I had them packed up and ready to go but the border mistress asked what the box on the back floor contained.

I had to answer honestly. She said that that live plant imports required a permit or certificate? They were taken to be destroyed (or to a security guards garden?).

Hell, if I strapped them to pigeons and flew them across the St. Lawrence there would have been no issue. Adding insult to injury, the plants were started from seeds sourced in the US???

IÂm still sorry I couldnÂt keep my commitment but lying and getting caught would have made life very uncomfortable.

IÂm not gonna give up though. IÂm heading back to NY in two weeks and IÂll try to get a few plants to you.

I mist them with my heavily mineral well water! lol My washed cars look like this as well.

I can only imagine how you feel JuicyJ. I have about 30 pepper plants now, and I'm still getting jealous cause I don't have any flowers, or ripening bhuts for that matter. If I end up working in the NYC soon, I'll package up a plant or two.
