Can anyone ID this grainy plumie pic please?

Hi all, anyone got an incling of what this is?

Both Lauri and myself would like to know...this was the picture that Laurie included with some 'pink' seeds she kindly sent to me, so I am assuming this is what we have. It was a pic of around 6x4cms, so it has lost some quality in the scanning process, but the colours seem reasonably accurate. These are some of the ones I have managed to germinate. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of what sort it could possibly be. Realise if we do get a positive ID from this, then our plants are only a 'seedling' of the original and not the actual one, but hey,I don't mind...Do you Laurie? It would be nice to call them something other than THE PINK ONES!

It almost looks like Kaneohe sunrise to me. Anyone agree?

I do not know John- My KS is not floppy, is more of a tight and rounded flower like a Paul Wissich. The K.sunburst has a sharper petal but both have more of a red pink closer to a Teresa Wilder. The T. wilder flops back like that but has a petal that is more narrow. I do not have a Kahului but it does look similar. I guess what this really means is that I really have no idea for sure. Bill

El, no someone on the Name that plant forum suggested the same thing, but nope, not it..blooms dont match up. Thanks tho! I googled for 'Erysimum yellow' as well, since my blooms are yellow..but the flowers just arent right. I wish I could explain them..or find that dang picture! It's weird cuz it only has leaves at the tops, as more grow in, the older leaves at the bottom of each "head" die off. The biggest 'heads' are about maybe 3" big explosions of leaves. This year I see alot of new 'heads' coming out of the nodes on the naked lower stems. Since I have no clue what it is, I don't want to prune it or anything..I might kill the whole thing, and its funky, I like it. Reminds me of something you'd see in a Dr. Seuss book. We had really hard rains all day today, so it was pretty beat down when I took the pic in between downpours and thunder. I tried to rig it & stake up the 2 floppy pieces real quick just to take the pic. O man, its 62 outside right now..unbelievably warm for this time of night, this time of year..I just had to say that, lol. I LOVE it!

Not being indoor plant person I hope I am doing the right thing. I purchased some potting soil from Lowes labeled for cacti and succulents. I plan to pot it up this weekend and get it ready to come live in my sunroom for the winter. The sunroom has very bright but indirect light. It is unheated but never gets below freezing - usually in the 50s or above. I had planned to initially moisten the soil and then only water once a month. Does this sound like a workable plan?

Ok I was talking with a good plumie friend today who is very seasoned when it comes to growing them in So Cal and was reminded how much difference heat, light and even the month can make. Well had to go meet a welder @ my patch today for an estimate and my gardener so he can start trimming my plumies (keeping out the poachers..lol.), while there I noticed that the blooms on my "kaset silp" looked totally different. I remember how my Budaraksa changes, sometimes not even resembling its true form. Anyway here are some pics of the "Kaset Silp" taken today. The shapes not there but could be due to weather but looking color correct now: Thai Sellers Kaset Silp pic to compare: JJ's Christina next to "Kaset Silp" older bloom. Even Christina does not look like she should: To show how different the same plumie can look here are pics of my Budaraksa @ different times: Without typical coloration and shape: Shape starting and coloring: Finally with the correct heat and light in my patch: So hopefully my "Kaset Silp" blooms are an anomaly because of the temp, lighting and time of year... Hi Karen Please call me Shadow I live a few blocks from the store. They get them in maybe once or twice a year. I live a few blocks from the store Two years ago I got a beautful white I called Heaven Scent but I lost it When I picked up this guy the rest were looking not so good. I never dreamed of anything so beautiful or I might have looked for another. No way to tell... Mine are taking the heat quite well Poor plumies we had that hard freeze in the winter now we have the burn LOL Mine is not Nebels Yellow Never saw anything like it. Tony thinks he as well as you have the same plumie. Only time will tell Right now yours lookd different... Look t him today...he's so handsome!!! When it fades it is a yellow purple rainbow You were lucky to get youre. They were reasonable little rooted cuttings I too never expected such beauties I may have bought another but I am blessed w my two... I guess we are neighbors It was so hot today Take care Shadow

I really don't know either Bill. I was looking on several sites and that was about the closest I could come up with. I am amazed at all the various plumeria that are so close in apperance, but slightly different, and thus warrant a different name tag. Makes it very interesting to say the least.

It reminds me of a plumeria that Barry from Singapore sells on ebay called intense tricolor. I bought seeds from him,of this cultivar about 3 yrs ago and are waiting for them to bloom this year.Hope this helps. Here is a link that might shed some light. he has a pic in his listing.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have made a note of them and will check back once that elusive inflo appears which I guess we will have to wait 3/4 years for. Even then it could well turn out to be quite different to the picture I suppose to add to the mystery! We could well have the worlds best plumie! Wouldn't that be good?
In the meantime, what a lot of plumies there are, of every colour and shape, and all marvellous.
