Does anyone know when JJ's is having open house?

Hello everyone!!!

I was just wondering if anyone knew when Jungle Jack's open house was? It seems to always be sometime in June...so if anyone knows, I would be most greatful!!

Has anyone heard from James? (Freak4Plumeria) I haven't seen him post anything in such along time...hope that he is OK...

They are not firm but targeting the last weekend in June (26/27). When they get back from Thailand they will firm up with plans. they are also planning a guided three day tour of their farms in Thailand next year if enough people want to go. I got an e-mail from James and he is just very busy getting his billion plants off the ground this year. He is just very busy. bill

Hey Bill and Laura,

Hope all is well and that your growing season is starting off with a BANG :).
Bill is correct about the email, been really busy personally and with the plumies. I just finished spraying them last week as signs of Fungus/BT and mites were infesting my patch.

As for JJ, John said he has a lot of new stuff he has brought in from Thailand over the past month's, so you may want to go and check out his open house...always a good time there.

Bill are you going on John's Garden Tour in Thailand? I told John I would go but if no one else I know is going I may back out. I guess a lot of people rather spend the money on plants then airfare and lodging..lol The one perk is that you will be allowed to buy fresh cuttings directly from the Thailand farm, stuff John does not have here and may not bring in so it is a great opportunity.

If you throw in like 50 wh at a time, the koi won't eat them so bad. Then you will get some shade and the koi will have something to do during the day. What you did was like throwing one personal pan pizza at a hungry football team!

I don't know where this one is, but there is a house near Ft.Worth that the owners built to look like the house in The Munsters. We were told they even have the staircase that raises up with a fire breathing dragon in it. They got some help from Hollywood, we were told. We were driven there by a local, so I don't know where it was either. I would be concerned about resale, but as DH says, there is a butt for every saddle.

My DH has this. He is no longer able to drive. He is diabetic and went through a period of denial - quit taking his meds, etc. He neglected his eyes and this is the result of that. Had they caught it sooner, he would be able to see better. For now, he gets injections in his eyes and laser eye surgery. He has had several of each since the first of last year. He uses magnifying glasses all the time. We just keep them laying around everywhere. His eyes are both better than when he was first diagnosed. They aren't promising anything, but as long as he keeps having small improvements and they continue the treatment, we are thankful. Bad thing is that we were planning to retire early, but now we can't. I have to continue to work to get health insurance until I am 65. I have a heart condition and he has diabetes and the eye problem. We are both uninsurable for all practical purposes. That is what hurts both of us. We worked so hard saving to retire and having enough to do a lot of traveling. Now - who knows. But, you caught yours early, so you should be in good shape. Just be sure you go to the doctor often to have them checked.

Thanks so much for those pictures, graywings! I think we can make that work. The porch the dogs will be exiting to has hardiplank siding, 8" laps, and on the inside is beadboard. I think our very Handy a Guy could tart up the appearance with molding and build a step on the outer side as the flooring there is wood....we'll see. Thanks,

Hey Bill and James,

Thank you for all of the information on JJ's open house.
I would love to try make it out to California for the open house...hopefully my schedule will allow me to work it out!!! I can only imagine what John will have for you all to see!!! How exciting!!!

James, I am glad to hear that you are very busy with your plants...just glad to hear that all is well with you!!!
I'll bet your plants are just beautiful this time of year!!

My growing season has started off with a bang!!! :)
My Thorton Lemon cutting has inflos on all three branches as well as my Celadine. I will take Your advice Bill, and leave the inflos as long as they continue to push leaves at the same time. Everything else is rooting, so I am very happy about that. My other trees are growing nicely and they also have a few inflos developing on them as well!!

Life is good here in Va. Beach...the temps have been in the 90's this week and are expected to drop down to the mid 70's for the rest of week.

Have fun in Thailand!!! What a great experience!!!
