Can you describe what the flower smells like? Sometimes we can get a better idea of what it might be with this information. Each has a different scent even though they are similar in coloring.

There's no problem keeping it in during bad weather but it will be much happier and healthier outside. You might want to keep it out of the late afternoon sun. It depends on the plant. I have many plumies that are in full sun all day but there's some that will get scorched foliage and stems if the sun's too strong. You can slowly acclimate it to a full day's sun and see how it does but I'd start off with morning and early afternoon sun. By the way that's a pretty bloom and it looks like you are going to have a bunch more.

Your right about a bunch more. Yesterday we repotted it as the man told me to do. The one bloom fell off, but tonight there is three more. Here is a picture with two of the blooms. It is a sweet smell. After a bunch of searching and reading, I am thinking Aztec Gold. I read about h2o2 in the water. I now our water has a lot of clorine in it. Would this be a good idea? Also I bourht some Osmocote. Should I fertilize?

Looks a lot like my 'Aztec Gold'. Mine has a fragrance of peaches with a hint of coconut.

It could also be a seedling of 'Aztec Gold', in which case it wouldn't officially be 'Aztec Gold'. I guess you'll never really know of sure.

If your water has a ton of chlorine in it, your plants will still do ok but prefer it gone. I Fill a trash can with water and put the lid on overnight (keep mosquitos from laying eggs) The chlorine is gone the next day. I mix my superthrive, and seaweed extract into the water and then submerge my watering cans. By the way Dave, that is a healthy Aztec- nice rich green leaves. Bill

I will ask the man the next time I see him if he knows what it is or when he got his tree. He did tell me that it is about 6 years old and he had plenty of cuttings off of it. He doesn't have any other verities. I know this tree isn't from seed as he had one bearing pods and asked me what to do with them. I didn't know. Guess the seeds are in the two pods that were hanging? I can't even get them from cuttings yet, let alone seed. :O) Thanks for all the advise. Is there a reason why people keep them in pots instead of in the ground? I know in the north it would be because of the weather, but you would think you would see them more in the ground in the south and I don't.
