wow good question, i was wondering if it is just a indoor winter thing,
after joining here i dug up one long cayenne and brought it inside for the winter, pruned it back it has flowered lots all winter but has never grown one pepper, no grow light, minimum water too

I tend to think Peppers (non Bell) are not regulated by light-long days/short days like some plants.
I think it's more a chemical and temp. thing that makes them do different things.
It seems if I use Calcium on a plant within a week It buds.Pretty much doesn't matter what time of year etc.
But it seems that it takes a difference in day and night temps to get buds to fruit for some pepper varieties.
Indoors I can get massive budding by adding a calcium fert. when I water.
But there will be tons of buds that do nothing or I get 1 pod for a gazillion buds if the growing area stays the same temp. day and night.
It doesn't seem to matter if days are different than nights or vis versa, as long as there is a period of temp. difference.
How long or how much of a difference , I don't know.But calcium with a temp. difference seems to work when I want a plant to put out pods.
Also to add calcium I use a concentrate that the plants can use right now.Not something that has to break down before the plants can use it( bonemeal or whatever).
Don't know if this will help,but it seems to work for me.
Though I've had plants refuse to put out pods at times and they won't put out until they feel like it.
Might have to sacrifice a virgin to the pepper gods. :)

I appreciate the response, wasn't really sure if this is a "special" plant. We'll wait and see what happens once the temp warms up and it gets outside. Got some different type of blossoms too. Every other blossom I've seem have been pure white and look the same to me. These are teenie little things. Got three other Bhuts and a scotch I just potted up top 1 gallons yesterday. I think I'll start up some "Yard nibblers" later today - Jalapeno, serrano and cayenne.

Well I believe the verdict is in - only seen them in pictures before. I'm pretty scared of it now that I see it face-to-leaf. I assume these ARE Bhut Jolokias...

Now what can I use them in? Chili? Sauce? Any ideas?

If we are referring to "the" Bhut Jolokia of Guiness fame and you need recipe ideas then I am here to help. First get all the fixins for your favorite chili. Make sure you have enough to make 5+ gallons. Take one of the peppers off the plant while wearing gloves. Using a very sharp knife nick the skin and squeeze about 2 drops into the chili. Mix well and taste. Now run around the house screaming like a little girl with a spider on her dress. You see that's funny to me. I think they actually use this stuff to make the pepper spray police use.

On a more serious note, when you do finally make a chili with them I would love to hear how it goes. Flavor, amounts and such. Careful about the eyes though. I have gotten a tiny bit of juice from a thai hot on my finger, rinsed my hands and then touched about an inch below my eye. Burned for 2 hours where I touched and about an hour in my eye even though I didn't get that close.
