Borer beetle infecting Hawaiian cuttings

Has anyone here heard of a beetle that is destroying plumeria in Hawaii? Evidently they can't be eradicated and some of the cuttings coming from Hawaii are infected. They are only discovered after the damage has occured (rotted cuttings) and cannot be detected by the agricultural inspectors. Someone emailed me and directed me to a post on Plumeriaaddiction.com. I'd never heard of it. Some people have had cuttings rot for unknown reasons and when the stem was cut into they found the grubs and pupa, even some dead adult beetles (evidently the heat from the seed mat cooked them). They had pics, nasty!
